Re: MegaSD

That video was excellent. It answered the main question I had which was how the audio compares to the original hardware. The greater the audio fidelity, the better. Looks like I'll be getting the Everdrive (though I might wait until I can find one for a little bit cheaper than full price). Great job...

MegaSD

I just heard about the MegaSD. Apparently, it's a cartridge that you can load into your Sega Genesis which can play Sega CD games. I stumbled across it when looking for options for replacing the spindle on my Sega CD. Might not be a bad way to play Sega CD backups from your collection when the hardw...

Re: Next project

Fair enough. Good that everyone is at least staying active with their own projects. I suppose another team project will come along eventually. Plenty of Japan-only games out there.

As an aside, I saw that you updated junkerhq.net. It looks great!

Re: Next project

Hey everyone, not sure what the next project is (seems to be under wraps), or whether that project is still progressing given lockdowns, etc. Perhaps Marc, Artemio, or slowbeef could provide an update?

Regardless, I hope everyone is doing well.

Re: Also stuck in the MSX version of Snatcher

I've asked about his features at least 6 or 7 times and I never get an option to make a montage. Looks like I'm screwed because I have done absolutely everything there is to do and I'm stuck. Thanks for trying to help though. You could always upload a savestate so that one of us could jump to exact...

Re: Kojima and incest (Policenauts spoilers)

I think that the homosexuality bit is generally just supposed to make the characters more quirky, and, in some ways, possibly reference groups such as the Brown Shirts. I don't think he is attempting to portray them maliciously, but I do think it's mainly for the quirkiness factor. The date with Paz...

Re: recommend games like snatcher/policenauts

Tried to check out Rise of the Dragon and Blade Runner. Turns out Blade Runner doesn't work (the main menu goes apeshit) and RotD has traps that prohibit you from moving on if you say something wrong to someone. That sucks. That was one of the things that I really didn't like about RotD, but I ende...

Re: recommend games like snatcher/policenauts

An obscure one that comes to mind is Eve Burst Error. The game was actually an erotic visual novel to begin with, but it was localized such that the "erotic" content was removed. I originally played it because the storyline was said to be excellent (the main reason why it was ported). It h...

Most Complex Translation Project

This is more directed at the people here who have participated in the makings of translation patches in general. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the most complex or difficult translation project ever completed would be? Or at least, one of the most complex or difficult? I know that many...

Re: Marine Philt (adventure game like Snatcher)

I 'v recently been looking into ways of hacking the text in PC-98 version of Marine Philt and found out that it was surprisingly easy! I unpacked the first floppy image using DiskExplorer and found out (from what I can tell) that none of the text seems to be compressed and can be directly edited in...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I've been playing the game a lot. There are certain things I would like to see come back to Deus Ex in the future, for instance, a less personally driven storyline. I prefer the originals very conspiracy driven storyline (it was more complex as well). The gameplay is really good though, and there ar...

Re: Metal Gear Saga (1-3) HD Remakes for PS3???

That might be cool, but I do sometimes prefer the pixelated older versions of games. I always liked the Metal Gear Solid PSX better than the PC version. Maybe it's just for nostalgic reasons though. Still looking forward to buying this..and perhaps a PS3 as well

Re: MGS bad guys recycle

I don't think they were actual Reincarnations...I didn't mind that the boss battles of MGS4 were like MGS I think 4 was all about nostalgia anyway. I do agree that it was probably intentional, but it doesn't seem quite as monotonous when certain characters are brought back in several games because ...

Re: Rarest game you own?

In my case emulation is not enough and don't like to incur on piracy, I rather play the original game on original hardware and wither on an Arcade CRT or using an upscan converter via RGB in order to view it correctly and with the best quality possible. I know this is very picky, but it is the way ...
