Re: recommend games like snatcher/policenauts

I think there's an English patch in the works for Team Innocent. Perhaps you know about it. http://projects.mattsmessyroom.com/team-innocent/ If you are just into adventure games, or "point and click," there are a number of them, although presumably you want more with a darker vibe, city s...

Re: recommend games like snatcher/policenauts

If you enjoy detective stories, you may find the best entertainment in the form of the original novels and movies which inspired these games. You probably already know about it some, but there were several popular writers in the 30s and 40s, such as Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Mickey Spillan...

Re: recommend games like snatcher/policenauts

You might want to look into the Tex Murphy series, like Under a Killing Moon. I find it too cheesy, but perhaps it's fun. There is a remake possibly coming out through Kickstarter funding. Also Deja Vu on the NES and Mac. Thanks, I already heard a lot about Deja Vu. I'll buy that for my NES soon. Y...

Re: Flashback: The Quest for Identity

That painting looks very nice. It even captures some of Chahi's style. It's interesting, I never liked the updating he did to the game (pictured above) with the higher resolution. It looks a little better in some ways, but it really just looks like he went over the old drawings and added more shadin...

Re: Your personal top 10 games?

God Hand (PlayStation 2) I absolutely love this game. It looks very rough, the voice acting is very bad, and the humour won't agree with everyone who plays it, but none of those points bring the game down for me at all. The gameplay here is wonderfully thought-out, and the replaying a level was nev...

Re: [Most of] Snatcher PC-88 music

Hi - You can listen to the PC8801 version of Snatcher in the Hoot sound emulator available at this link: http://snesmusic.org/hoot/v2/ Very high quality. Sounds great. Includes several tracks not in the Sega CD version, plus I think the music sounds best here. Favorite track: "Beyond Sorrows.&q...

Re: Flashback: The Quest for Identity

I recently re-beat this game and have had it in my collection (on the Genesis) since it came out. It's a DEFINITE classic. I'd forgotten how good it was, in my mind tending to think that it paled in comparison to Out of this World (Another World) but actually it may be better, or at least holds its ...

Re: Obscure Games.

I love the King's Field series on the Playstation, especially the first one released to America (which is actually the second). It had this dark, moody foreboding atmosphere, kind of haunting, and was admittedly slow-moving, but was also one of the first (and still only) 1st person action RPGs (a mu...

Re: Your personal top 10 games?

I also like Road Avenger, but I guess it's not in my top ten. I was quite fanatical about it when it came out, though and beat it pretty quickly. (I also seem to be one of the few fans of Time Gal, but I haven't beaten that one yet). Favorite games... hard to narrow it down to ten, but here goes: 1)...

Re: recommend games like snatcher/policenauts

There was a Mega CD game called Detonator Orgun, released only in Japan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y5RtDDNq2U Based on an anime I haven't seen. Curiously, Snatcher is not listed on Wikipedia's "graphic adventures" -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_graphic_adventure_games even t...
