Re: Next project
I have to admit this game is intriguing... It also has the greatest boxart ever. Is this game going to, for real, be $300 to acquire? Would it be cheaper if you were actually in Akihabara? Edit: I realized that the $300 copy on eBay was sealed and open ones have sold in Germany for about $150. There...

A better PS1 mouse?
Hello again everyone! I was showcasing some games at a classic games convention this weekend including Policenauts. There were some people interested in the game and I told them they can get fairly cheap on eBay yadda, yadda... My problem is that the only mouse I have is the PS1 Interact mouse, whic...

I finally got some Verbatim discs and used my modern burner with Imgburn forcing down to an average of 5x and got the game to work all the way through. I only had a couple of times where the system lost track of the disc, but recovered quickly.
Overall no problems.

Re: Project S
I haven't beat Policenauts yet, but I think I like it more. Mostly because the system for gameplay is way more streamlined than Snatcher. Hopefully it doesn't spoil me too much when I try to go back to Snatcher. It does make you wonder what Project S will be like. Killer7's movement plus Policenaut...

Re: Report issues here
I'm completely at a loss now... Almost all of my conditions for playing the game on a PSX have been satisfied. Modded system, mouse, s-video cables, blank discs, a burner and functional ISO's... Apparently the burner I found is too old. HP CD-Writer Plus 9100. Img Burn thinks the discs I put in are ...

Re: Report issues here
I decided to give a modded PSX a try. I have two variables left before my main question... My burner's minimum speed is 8x and I'm not sure if the Sony CD-R's I have are good enough. Assuming I can eliminate both issues, I'm wondering if the PSX I borrowed from a friend will work. He said it was mod...

Re: Feature requests for future versions
I don't speak Japanese, but I think there are subtitles missing at some point in the opening cut scene. I think the narrator mentions the date when the Policenauts started working in space, but there are no subs that tell us what the date is. I'll let Marc speak more to that, but that's intentional...

Re: Feature requests for future versions
It's hard to judge since I'm still in Act 1, but it seems to me that the cutscenes could use nameplates to clarify who is speaking. Also, isn't it more difficult to duplicate Saturn discs? All I have is an AR 4 in 1, which bypasses the region lock. I don't think it would dupe the system into booting...

Got in a little more playtime this morning, figured I'd try scanlines but my framerate tanked... what gives?
Scanlines shouldn't be so taxing, right?

Re: My ePSXe settings
I switched plugins, that fixed it. Anyone else with a similar setup should avoid that plugin, I suppose... Got in about the first hour or so... totally freaking awesome. With it being scaled to such a high degree though, I'll have to consider fooling with some scanlines to compensate. I really shoul...

Re: My ePSXe settings
ATi Radeon HD4650. Usually this is an emulator option, for instance, KEGA fusion allows for 1920x1080 fullscreen resolution while a separate option tells the emu to draw only in the 4:3 space in the middle of that area. Which is great because the frame counter and SegaCD disc and access lights are i...

Re: My ePSXe settings
Anyone have advice maintaining aspect ratio in fullscreen on a 16:9 HDTV? Running ePSXe with the e}i{ Video Plugin. So far I either get a wide stretched mess or a teeny tiny window in the middle... can't seem to scale to the full panel height and maintain 4:3. Windowed mode would kind of suck from e...

I had the same problem this morning... must be version 2.5.
I remembered I had 2.4.1 or 2.4.2 on my XP partition and it worked the first time no problem. Finished the process in Win7 perfectly.

Re: Report issues here
Ok, I was gonna start this as a new thread but it's easier to post it here. To rip the cd's with no problem, I just use ImgBurn and highly recommend it. It rips it with no hassle and automatically recognizes it as a Playstation CD. All you have to do is specify to save it as a .iso file and..voila!...

Re: Current Status (4/26/09): 1 Bug Till Beta
I have a question related to piracy. If I buy Policenauts from the japanese PSN store is it ok for me to download an ISO of Policenauts for the english patch? This is less of a legal issue and more of a moral issue. Which one is more acceptable? I bought the PSX and SAT versions of Policenauts from...

You know, I respect Kojima for his work and his vision. That's why I enjoy to collect his work and play his games. Twenty years is a long time to like one thing, and I've tried my best to improve my knowledge of Japanese culture to enhance my enjoyment of both games and anime. You would think, since...

When I looked on my main computer the clouds were moving pretty fast and the lightning was about 10-12 seconds apart... now at least. On my xandros eeepc (flash9 if it matters) the clouds move slower and exhibit a strange pattern of flashing lightning somewhere between 20 and 34 seconds apart... eve...

They're talking about us on Destructoid...
There was a write up on Snatcher and in the comments someone suggested the writer was gearing up for Policenauts coverage.
Good to know we don't live in a bubble here, but we might have to put akor in the basement when the dinner guests arrive, heh.

Project S is the code name for the as of yet unannounced collaboration between Hideo Kojima and Goichi Suda. Goichi Suda, aka Suda51, of Killer7 fame has mentioned his love for Snatcher and on stage with Kojima proclaimed they should make a game together someday. Project S exists only on paper, perh...
