Re: Policenauts soundtrack coming to vinyl
Minor detail, but the first pressing had a typo in it. "D3. The Moment of Clouds" should have been "D3. The Movement of Clouds". This has been corrected for the second pressing currently available from Data Discs. https://data-discs.com/products/policenauts

Huh. That's... interesting.
Though to be clear, Policenauts played no part in my becoming involved.

Re: Is this a goof?
Oh, I didn't necessarily want to tell you guys how it should be interpreted. Just that the way I see it, there is an explanation. More than possible one, actually. I thought about this myself when doing the translation. For example, Redwood could simply be playing more mind games with Jonathan. Or, ...

Re: Policenauts Sega Saturn Translation
I'll be fine with it as long as those changes are also included in the next version of the PlayStation patch to keep things consistent. This will definitely happen. I've been using an Excel sheet to log text changes between the versions. Right now it just consists of typo corrections. We might even...

Re: Policenauts Sega Saturn Translation
Okay, so here's a question: how do you guys feel about the altering of lines? Obviously typos will be fixed, but what I mean is changing the translation of a handful of lines because in the time between the original project and this project, I've come up with better ways of saying them. I'm hesitant...

Re: Hello, new here
I remember trying to get Policenauts to work on my PC98 laptop 8 years ago. It was quite a challenge. In the end, apparently it was not possible on that laptop, or so an expert on the Tokugawa forums told me. PC98 hardware can be a PITA. I did however get it to run on my PC98 desktop the following y...

Re: Feature requests for future versions
Regarding the Saturn patch, the nice thing is that the team now has full control over the subtitle timing, which wasn't available with the PS version.

Re: 3DO Translation?
Besides the dithering, the 3DO version also has some weird art in it. Like Ed's expression during the driving scenes. He looks borderline psychotic.
But you get to see Hojo's lab with pink chairs! Apparently because pink is a stimulating color, intellectually. So Saito says, anyway.

Re: Bigotry and Transphobia in Policenauts
Before I begin, let's just remember that one of the very few rules of the forum is to respect others. And there is nothing wrong with raising any issue for discussion, with the exception of piracy. Okay, so I was the translator for the project. Regarding the "biovestite" line, the word tha...

Re: Policenauts PC-98 Differences
There was no censorship of the PC-98 version that I can recall. If anything they added to subsequent versions more women that you can fondle. The Saturn has the most (every woman in the game except Lorraine). They added the BCCH receptionist, the two guides at AMM, and the hostage at the bag store t...

Just wanted to let you know I've started typing up a response to your questions, but it's going to have to wait until tomorrow. Was simply too busy today to finish it.

Actually, 8-bit sonic is playing through the game on SSF as we speak, using the RAM cart and saving liberally as he goes. Once he's done, he or I will post it here.

Re: question about the Tokimeki Memorial easter egg save
Yes, if you have save data from Forever with You on your memory card, Policenauts includes extra text that pretends that Jonathan was the main character in Tokimeki Memorial (and the text changes according to which clubs you were in, which girls you dated, etc.). So it's like Psycho Mantis's memory ...

Re: Hardcore Gaming 101 "Top Secret Konami files"
Hey, if it's the script for MGS2 before it was altered for 9/11 that would be very cool. I imagine it will be a ton of behind the scenes stuff on MGS2 and Ghost Babel. Probably moreso MGS2. I also imagine that yes, the pre-9/11 version will be detailed to some degree. This person would have had acc...

Re: Hardcore Gaming 101 "Top Secret Konami files"
I pretty much know who this person is and which games they will cover, just from things I know and details they mentioned in that article. Probably the most interesting stuff for people here will be the MGS2 and Ghost Babel bits (assuredly the "MEGATON" releases). The two text-heavy games ...
