Re: Feature requests for future versions
How about a translation of Policenauts? To give you some quick replies, I used the internet terms because I'm imagining them as having fully migrated into mainstream speech by 2040 Then make your own game that takes place in 2040, and put stupid internet dialect in it. I didn't wait fifteen years t...

Re: Report issues here
FYI:
ePSXe with the e}I{-GPU plugin will crash hard when playing the shooting simulation after you've been handed your report card and it's supposed to take you back to the main game. Switching to another plugin worked remedied this (thank you, autosave!).

Holy shit.
Thanks for all the hard work; I'm looking forward to the release. More than you can imagine.

Re: Policenauts Social Thread
The most important thing is preserving the original author's intent in your translation - the second most being flow and readability. If the translator feels the need to redo the original writing entirely in order to satisfy these - fine, why not? Having a translation that is enjoyable to read and c...

Re: Kojima Productions New IP Revealed Soon?
Ha! I remember arguing, on these very forums even, that a new Snatcher game (or any new/revived forgotten IP) would never be made given the current industry climate. I haven't seen anything since that would lead me to hold a different view (not that I personally wouldn't want a new Snatcher, but tha...

Re: Current Project Status (12/19/08): Alpha Testing
Why don't you just leave them japanese, as they were before? Since the spoken text won't be altered, the game surely has a japanese feel to it, so they won't look out of the place. Also, I like the look of them. As far as I understand, the idea is to try to get as close to what an official localiza...

Re: Current Project Status (12/19/08): Alpha Testing
I'm inclined to agree with the "they're redundant"-crowd, seeing as the dialogue for the particular scenes where they're displayed will usually reflect what the telops say anyway. Doing away with them is fine with me. Edit: I also remember the Mother 3 guys doing something similar regardin...

Doesn't Tokimeki Memorial run on the same engine as Policenauts (I seem to remember that being the case)? Worth checking out.

Re: Favorite songs from the game
I'd hate to pick favourites out of such a good selection of songs. Excluding Criminal Investigation (which is not that great in the first place and is overused in the game) and possibly also Magic Subway (which is annoying), it's all really great stuff; standalone or otherwise. As mentioned by someo...

Iphone software is normally developed in Objective-C (using Apple's Cocoa API). There's no Java development environment for the Iphone as of yet if I'm not mistaken. In order to run Iphone software on PC you'd need to get full-blown emulation going or reverse engineer the data format, then develop a...

Re: Current Project Status (12/14/08)
For the record, I had this problem on my official copy of the game, not an ISO. That's the thing. I think it's a problem with the emulators themselves, then. This compatibility list for pSX specifically mentions Policenauts, with the note: Disc 3: Emulator crashes in the ending credits of the game ...

Re: Current Project Status (11/01/08)
Hey, Slowbeef, when you figure that out, try to keep the solution in mind for when someone tries to hack the PC98 version  . The PC9821 version would indeed be great to have; however, I suspect the lack of a disassembler would make it hard to conduct any sort of development for that particula...

I have no problems to wait for an overall status progress, but... We need some eye candy guys, could you upload some pics with translated dialogues or the screens when a character with his/her voice-actor appears, with the text translated? I should probably let the team speak for themselves, but fr...

Re: Played through the original version (spoilers)
Just to instil my personal curiosity: why the 3DO version? It's arguably the worst of all the console versions, given that it's missing a lot of stuff that was added for the PlayStation and/or Saturn-version(s); the shooting gallery, the encyclopedia mode, some dialogue and a few additional scenes (...

Re: Snatcher? What is it about?
I feel we're getting a bit off-topic here, but I might as well have another go at this. There is very little in common with No More Heroes and Snatcher. I don't think your analogy really stands up, to be honest. Fair enough. Well, I believe that the Wii and DS are outselling the PS3 and Xbox 360 in ...

Re: Snatcher? What is it about?
Would it actually stay true to the first game's extreme focus on story and atmosphere (to the point where there is no gameplay, essentially) though? I figure Kojima has expectations on him as to sales after the whole MGS-thing and unless they do it on handhelds (which would allow it to do well in J...

Re: Snatcher? What is it about?
i think that its a very long overdue project. i just hope that if they have something that they dont strey too far from snatcher It began production because Goichi Suda was such a big fan of Snatcher, and started talking to Kojima about ways to expand the franchise (who never had serious plans to m...
