Cameron fan, eh? I'd say True Lies and The Abyss are also both up there with his best, not to mention the screenplay he knocked out for Strange Days.

Drunk. I'm not now, though. I question the importance of subjectivity in comedy criticism - I think all it is an easy defence for mediocrity ('well, I liked it!').

The theatrical cut? The new DVD will have that, the '92 Director's Cut and the new Special Edition, which will be the best one to watch I think.

Ha ha, come on, this isn't R.E.M. Hard to believe, but it genuinely is! Michael Stipe's made plenty of effort to attempt to bury that piece of the band's history, and you can really see why. I had no idea that it was originally whale meat, though, but I suppose it explains Mika (and all them lot)'s...

Hah, I'm pissed and I make more sense than you!

It was certainly an issue around the time of Snatcher's release. I've just dug out a recording from 1994 of R.E.M. rather uncharacteristically doing a Japanese commercial advocating whale hunting: http://www.sendspace.com/file/91ixoc I suppose buffalo is slightly more American, if that means anything.

Yes I think that's an example of what he was talking about. I could probably prove with science that that isn't funny.

You can't just say 'let's get back on topic' to get back on topic, you've got to say something that gets us back on topic to truly get back.

Good one. Mr. Show's quickly become one of my favourite ever comedies - finally saw the 'Can I use this chair?' sketch that a David Cross fan talks about plagiarising to win a talent competition in Let America Laugh, and I think the episode it's in is the one that closes on the Bob vomiting outtake ...

I don't think sharing similar appearances with vaguely obscure American movie actors allows any particular insight into video game release issues, but why not go and ask anyway?

Solid Snake often does that, too (i.e. MGS1 Briefing). That's true, but Raiden is ridiculously prolific! Kojima has said he does that repeating on purpose (whenever it involves information you wouldn't hear in real life, such as technical information, or a name that, Japanese at least, aren't used ...

The Abyss

Well I've just given the Special Edition of this a whack, primarily on the strength of both Terminators and Aliens - James Cameron certainly knows how to do both decent action and decent thriller, and this was no exception, being as it was jolly good all in all. I probably wouldn't have gone for the...

Yup. Kojima's wanted to give him a cameo voice role in MGS, but nothing turned out to be appropriate. Which is odd considering he would have made a brilliant Johnny Sasaki. I'm sure there's even a character in one of his films with IBS.

Raiden's not a character, he's a tool for repeating the last word of every spoken sentence just in case you happened to miss it.

Gens won't play it, it's not a Sega thing, I think I must have played it on an MSX emulator, probably from a link on this forum somewhere... Rick Deckard, you just recommended some comedies from your country, so I'll recommend some from mine. . . Well, thanks - I do love about as much American comedy as I do British. Can't say I'm much of a fan of American Dad, Will & Grace (was that a joke entry?) or Family 'a bit like the time I.....
