88' actually. Hence my screename.
BTW, folks, I must mention that this November 26th will be the game's 20th anniversary. The game was originally released on that date 20 years ago on the NEC PC-8801.

Re: Attempting to download PC98 Policenauts
Actually, I finally managed to get the game to work on my Anex86 emulator. All I did was mount the CD image with the trial version of Alcohol %120. However, during the intro, there is no "Old L.A. 2040" playing in the background. How do I fix this problem? For the record, I now have severa...

Re: Attempting to download PC98 Policenauts
All right, now that I got that out of the way, all I have to do now is mount the CD image with my virtual CD software. The only problem, however, is that when I tried to download Daemontools (the one that you suggested) onto my desktop, I've got an error message telling me that my OS doesn't support...

Re: Attempting to download PC98 Policenauts
Okay, now I just created a folder called "98_poln" that contains the following contents: The "Policenauts" sub folder, which contains a CD sub-folder that includes a .bin file and a .cue file. Both of them are VLC Media files, and contain 555,852 kb, and 1 kb respectively. Also i...

Re: Attempting to download PC98 Policenauts
I've tried to unzip them with WinZip, but it's not working. Everytime I do, a message pops up saying that I possibly typed in a wrong password, when in actuality, I'm only using an evaluated version of WinZip. Even the version of Alcohol %120 that I downloaded is a Trial version. So does this mean t...

Re: Attempting to download PC98 Policenauts
Okay, I just put all 5 rar files into a folder that I named "PC98 Policenauts", and I've downloaded Alcohol 120%. Now how do I mount the CD image with my Virtual CD software?
Also, if I forgot to do something, or if I made a mistake up until this point, please let me know.

Re: Attempting to download PC98 Policenauts
Okay, I just downloaded all 5 rar files onto my desktop. Now how do I extract them to a place on my harddisk, so that I will have everal floppydisk images and 1 harddisk image and a directory with the CD image? Do I have to insert a blank CD and a blank 3 inch floppy disk into my disk drive? Also, w...

Attempting to download PC98 Policenauts
Okay, after several false starts, I've decided to try downloading the game, using the emulation guide. First things first, it says to extract the rars to a place on my harddisk, and that I should have several floppydisk images and 1 harddisk image and a directory with the CD image. What do they mean...

Question about rereleases
I've noticed that many of his games were rereleased under several collections, such as Konami the Best, PsOne Books, Playstation 2 the Best, Konami Dendou Selection, and the essential Metal Gear Solid collection. Exactly how are those rereleases different from the originals?

Yu Suzuki leaves Sega
http://kotaku.com/5035655/shenmue-creator-yu-suzuki-no-longer-at-sega Yu Suzuki, the creator of Shenmue , among other games, is no longer at Sega. Although a lot of people indicate that this is the end of Shenmue , perhaps finishing it could become much easier for him, now that Sega is no longer goi...

Re: Snatcher mention in this months games tm
Why do people keep saying that Snatcher was originally on the MSX2? It wasn't, it was originally on the PC-8801, and it's miles better than the MSX one for obvious reasons, but not better than SD Snatcher, and the PCE and SCD versions of the original game obviously.

Re: What Will Kojima's New IP Be Like?
By fan influence, you mean how many of Kojima's previous efforts drew influences from 80's science fiction movies, such as Blade Runner (1982), The Terminator (1984), Bubblegum Crisis (1987), Akira , and Lethal Weapon (1987), right? You left out Escape from LA witch he stole from the biggest. The m...

I noticed in these two comparison videos, there's a difference in speed: http://youtube.com/watch?v=X-l2QdZNyqo&feature=related (notice the several extra seconds worth of delay there?) http://youtube.com/watch?v=KfkqB6ezoOc (notice how much faster it is here?) Is there any explanation for those ...

Re: Overlapping Kojima games?
Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but a lot of Kojima's games featured a plot twist where the protagonist gets betrayed by his superiors: In the original Metal Gear, Big Boss was unmasked near the end of the game as Outer Heaven's commander-in-chief. In both Snatcher and SD Snatcher, Benson ...

There was no shooting scene against the insectors in the PC engine version of the game? To be honest, I've never played the PCE version (I would love to, though). So far, I've played the PC88, MSX2, and Sega CD versions, and I could care less about getting the PS1 and Saturn versions. Does anyone kn...

Re: Overlapping Kojima games?
Yeah, that's who I meant. And not only that, but I've noticed some continuity errors in the localization, as well. For example, in the Sega CD version, Metal Gear mk. 2 tells Gillian that he and Jamie were frozen 1989, and that Gillian comes from a world that's been gone for 50 years. I think that q...

Re: Overlapping Kojima games?
Don't know if this would count or not but... The official Metal Gear timeline, now that it's coming to an end, spans 50 years (from 1964-2014). So did the timeline for Snatcher. The game started on June 6th, 1991, and ended during Christmastime 2042. And yes, I'm using the original intended timeline...

Re: Rumour: MGS1 coming to Xbox Live Arcade?
For that particular version, all they did was cut out the part where Ocelot said to press the circle button, etc. and the part where he said something about submitting.
The keys were changed to pressing action key for life up, and select key for give up.
