I wonder if he doesn't just mean the Project S announcement from April (a radio play plus future "projects"), since Junker_05 has been away from the forums for a while.

Yeah, that is actually what I meant. Haven't been up to date with the latest Kojima goss at the moment (been a bit busy with school and whatnot)

I found Jeff's official site if anyone's interested:

Sent him an email too.

Huh? Didn't I make a post about this earlier? Where is this interview anyway? I guess the guy forgot.

I constantly lurk these forums so even though this is my first post...I'm not new to message boards or anything.

Anyhow, I would really, really, really, REALLY appreciate an update on the Hyper Magazine interview.

I cannot find it ANYWHERE, and this site is my last hope for any sort of decent Snatcher news.

If someone gets a hold of the guy who was supposed to scan this or gets a copy of the magazine, please let us know. I want to know what Junker_05 meant by saying Snatcher is coming back in a big way! :(

He just meant the Project S info that was already announced a few months ago. My copy should be on its way, so when it arrives I can post scans (if Junker_05 hasn't done so by then).

Wow! That's much bigger than I'd expected. Thanks very much. Comments come after I've read it.

EDIT-
I'm really glad that they both want to be involved in Project S. It probably will amount to as much as the recent news that Jeremy Blaustein would like to translate MGS4, though. Then again, this project seems to be directed squarely at the hardcore fans of the original (i.e. us), so if they hear that the fans are passionate about getting the original VA cast involved, then they might consider it.

Awesome article. One of the best on the game, if not the best I've ever read in a magazine! The person who wrote it was obviously a devoted fan of both Snatcher and Kojima, his understanding of all his projects was great, and he credited you guys here at Junker HQ, several times! Even having your own blurb about it, congratulations fellas, more fame. :)

The guy even hinted that he thought you would be up for the translation of the Snatcher Radio Drama (hehe), the guy knew about everything, wouldn't be surprised if he was a member here, actually. It was great to hear the reactions from both Lucy and Jeff, they sound like they really enjoyed their time working on the project and hearing them both saying they would do another, if the opportunity ever came about, really made me feel relieved. Jeff even going on to say 'he would do it even better now' really sounds great as well, with experience behind him now, and all.

The information goes over what we already know, really; but hey, the man who wrote it had such an understanding, that it didn't even matter, the interview was great and we got to hear that the cast did in fact had a good time whilst doing it, which is good enough news, since the other cast members would hopefully return, too.

We're getting a helluva lot of Snatcher news lately, with this and the two podcast sessions with Jeremy. Great.

And best of all, I'm glad that "Project S" is going to be a prequel to the original game, and not just simply a remake.

It was a great article, yeah, and it was nice of Maurice to mention the Policenauts project in it. The thing that I've been wondering about regarding new Snatcher products is possible IP infringement. Let's face it, as great as the game is, it borrows quite a bit from Blade Runner and Terminator, and I wonder if they could get away with that for new products. The Snatchers are virtually identical to the T-800s, and Gillian's image is very similar to Deckard's. I do know that they changed the Snatchers' eyes from red to green when it came out in the West for that reason, but things might be different nowadays.

The term "Sudatcher" also makes me feel that these new products will be more Suda than Kojima, since he never had any plans to go back to Snatcher before Suda talked him into it.

Well, Kojima said he was planning it in 1997, but I don't know if he ever thought about it between that and when Suda met up with him.
I have no real interest in how the work is split up between Goichi Suda and Hideo Kojima, as long as they both have creative control over the project.

Where did you hear about the 1997 bit? In 2005 he said he had no plans to go back to Snatcher, wanting to focus on new projects instead.

Well, it didn't directly say "1997", but Kotaku got this quote from Kojima earlier in the year-
Kotaku.com wrote:...Something new, eh? Like your long, and oft-rumoured collaboration with Suda? "The collaboration with Suda is a little different", Kojima says. "It's something I've been thinking about for about 10 years now, but unfortunately can't concentrate on right now because we're so busy with MGS4".
It doesn't directly confirm that he was considering reviving Snatcher 10 years ago, either. It could mean that he wanted to work on another text-based adventure game around that time, or even that he may have wanted to work with Suda back then. It just seems logical that he considered doing another Snatcher project at that time.

having both the TUS podcast and this close to each other is really nice. Thanks a lot for getting those Marc.

I do wonder why they don't mention Jeremy though, they seem to recall a Japanese director... odd.
