Snatcher Skeleton Research
Okay another research thread.
I've recently been going over video of the different versions of Snatcher and thought it'd be interesting to chronicle the different Snatcher skeleton design changes over the different ports.
There seem to be three main versions of the Snatcher skeleton.
Original Design- All silver with Red right eye and Human Left eye and highly asymmetrical face panels-
msx pc88 This design was also used in SD Snatcher- The first design change filled in the gap under the left eye and Turned the human eye into a regular metallic Terminator style eye with a red pupil-
PCengine- Saturn- Then we have the English Sega CD version where they decided that the SNatcher design was too derivitive of the Terminator Endoskeleton design and added green panels to various sections and made the eyes glow GREEN. Interesting progression. I'm not sure which is my favorite. I really like the weird asymmetrical face elements of the first design but the green aesthetic of the sega version is a great way to seperate it visually from the character's Terminator roots. That weird human eye was such a fun choice too. Sorry to see that go.

Me again...LOL!
I personally prefer the Snatchers with the "green plating"...I'll be using that design for the mod!
Konami had to change the eye color and add that plating when Snatcher came to the states to avoid copywrite issues with "The Terminator" endoskeletons.

Re: Snatcher Skeleton Research
I'm really surprised that there aren't more MSX Snatcher pictures and videos online. It was really hard trying to find any MSX SNatcher images for these comparisons. There seems to be a lot of different artwork used for the MSX/PC88 versions that were drastically changed for the later versions. Characters in different poses nad slightly different scenarios, things like that.
When I get a little free time I think I'll finally give the MSX version a playthrough. I'll try and make a lot of screen caps for posterity.

Actually i was about to play MSX Snatcher from start to finish and take lots of screenshots of it. But... it just freezes in one point of the game and i have not been able to play the game to finish.

Re: Snatcher Skeleton Research
Hi guys, new here!
I was going to play through this again, and have a working version of the MSX Snatcher ROM. I suppose It'd be possible for me to take pictures of everything the MSX version's got to offer!
I think I should learn what posts images first... >.>

I use ImageShack to upload photos, or you could use Flickr. You can keep better track of your photos on Flickr since they use accounts. (and of course you can post a picture as an attachment also)AwesomeBrand wrote: I think I should learn what posts images first... >.>

In imageshack:
Go to your images. Select by clicking images which you have uploaded, then click add to album link which is in the right side of the site. After that you can see link list for those images on the right side of the site, below the options links. Choose BBcode and it gives you a list of links which are coded with [IMG] tags and thumbnails.

All you have to do is get the direct link of the image you want to use, copy it and then click the "Img" button when your posting a reply here and paste the link in between the two image blocks. (here's an example)AwesomeBrand wrote:I guess as soon as I figure out how to post images, I can put them there
when you click the "Img" button this will appear
Code: Select all
