Hey thanx guys!

The new engine after 6+ months of waiting finally works!
The original goal was to use the Crysis 2 SDK to "Test" the new CE3 and then switch to the CE3 SDK...
The Crysis 2 SDK however was abandoned by Crytek in September of last year and was still buggy etc.
The CE3 SDK was released in September, but broken until this month(s) (update/patch), so things are finally back on track!

I'm still working to get the re-modeled higher-poly work done so I can replace what you've been seing for a while now...
Which is old work built entirely inside of the CryEngine 2 with their limited low-poly toolset, so it will look so much better when I replace the old shit!

Now that the engine is FINAL the project will move on and things will be getting finalized! I hope to get a lot done this year!

I'll keep you guys informed...

You need to find more recruitment.

I suggest look for someone who knows how to paint 3D Models, someone who knows reverse-programming, anyone. Just as long as it's no-one with a computer that can't handle Crysis.

It sounds much easier than it actually is to recruit...even with all the press the project has recieved.
If you only knew how many people ask to join and drop out or don't make the cut...it's very hard finding seriously dedicated and talented people. ](*,)
I'm ALWAYS looking for people to apply to the team who think they can cut it though!

I can texture, but the art direction isn't quite finalized yet...so all texturing is WIP/placeholder.
What do you mean by reverse programming? I'm a bit of a programmer and I'll possibly have another joining me soon.

You don't need to be able to run Crysis 2 to join the team...(seriously) :-$
NOBODY on my team works in the engine or is required to...that's all me lol!
Although TheSyndicate is awesome and he's learning how to export his models to the CE3 and use the SDK etc.

You know how the new SD Snatcher translation will have a seven character limit instead of 6 in the original? That's reverse programming.

Oh cool...
I play SD Snatcher once a year, so once this new translation is done I'll have to give it a play

I know what reverse engineering/programming is, but I don't understand what relation it has to the project I'm doing...(?)
I'm always open to ideas, so maybe you could explain your comment better?

So wait. Does CE3 allow reverse engineering (i.e. Turbocycle has radio and shit) or is there more to it?

Still not following you fully on what you mean man lol! ...sorry
I'll try to explain...

Snatcher (original game) I beleive used C (? or C++).
While the CryEngine 3 uses LUA and C++.

SURE! You can have a radio and shit in the Turbocycle if you mean a functional radio etc.? (I plan to have a radio in it actually).
But having a "Radio" feature in a vehicle has nothing to do with reverse engineering...its just plain old coding, so I'm confused by what you mean?

As far as needing to reverse engineer code for this project...
I've got freinds who are doing what I need to do code wise in the CryEngine willing to help me as far as the systems I need to code.
So It's more logical/relevant for me to look at their LUA/C++ code and see what they did than try to reverse engineer old Snatcher code for this project lol!

I hope this clears some things up a bit?
If not as I said I love to talk about this shit...

Nothing MAJOR here, but nearly all the work has now been "ported" to the CryEngine 3 SDK!
Here's a look at the JUNKER HQ map now up and running (missing a few textures and particles though)

Now that the "porting" is done it's time for me to get back to work on getting the "NEW" shit I've been working on in-game!

Stay Tuned...

As for that radio idea, perhaps, when you do get around to coding miscellaneous things like that, I would suggest throwing in a sound test.
Maybe like the one in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake where tuning in to frequency 140.07 selects a random BGM from the game.
I'd be a cool refrence.

Just an idea.

Anyway, I applaud your effort and hardwork. :)

Thanx man...

I have tons of plans for "Extra" features that aren't in the original game...stuff just like what you mentioned.
I just have to get everything else done first before I can implement them lol!
I'll also be asking you guys for your help and ideas, as I'd like to include everyone here in some way in this project.

It's the same deal for me and that proposed Snatcher remake.
Some of these features I just made up a couple days ago, like, say if you get too many Game Overs before the End of Act 2, you'll get the PC-88/MSX ending.

The new vid looks amazing, Ash! I promise an overload of Snatcher concept art soon. Hey, I'm on vacation (sorta) and I can stop neglecting this awesome project now.

Gosh. It's been awhile.

Keep up the awesome work!

And here ya go:

Oh boy, I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve!
I kinda' wish I have a model 2 Genesis now...

Eh, Genesis 1 still looks cool on a Model 2 Sega CD, even with the 32X.

Here's a quick Snatcher MOD concept. Nothing flashy, and Gillian has no limbs. Image

Thanks, Ash! Glad you approve. It was kinda quick though... so I have something else for ya!

Here's a brush pen/acrylic piece process I did of Randam Hajile. Man, he looks like one pissed off Bioroid.

It's the flowy semi-mullet. ;)

Haha! Hey, that sounds like a form of cough syrup made by pokemon venom.

Things to include... maybe more references of today's things. Like mentioning facebook, apple etc. but keeping them out of Snatcher by mentioning it wasn't so successful in the Jordan database. Sorry, it's still Jordan for me. :D
I really liked the original's references, and there was a lot of them. And you either got them or you didn't, but they were never really needed for the gameplay itself or for the main storyline. And you could reference a lot of today's pop culture, games, etc.
Hey, maybe turn one of this forum's members into a Snatcher and include a storyline around him like a side mission. This would perfectly work just a little bit within act two. In fact, you could actually cram a lot of stuff into right there without compromising the original's main storyline. Like sidequests etc. This would also be something great for the folks who already played the original, like a few surprises you don't expect. Anyone ever played the Resident Evil Remake for the Gamecube? Does this version's dog scene ring a bell?

Sounds like a cool idea for a side story.
Hmm... I'm trying to imagine a Snatcher version of Ash...

I've got it! It'll be a parody of DarkSeed!
You know that infamous adventure game where the lead designer was the main character.
It will be called "DarkSnatch". It'd work great as a bonus unlockable reward for beating the game.

(Sorry, I've been watching too much Retsuprae.)
