Thought I'd post link to another thread I started over at the replica prop forum which shows a bit more detail in the step by step process of my MkII build.

Looking good as usual Nick!
Even people who don't know about Snatcher think its impressive (which it is) and there's even some Snatcher fans commenting...
I'd also like to see that user made "Gun" replica from Snatcher that is mentioned in the thread...hopefully that guy posts it at some point there.

Thanx for the link!

Anybody know the origin of this image? Is it official or fan made?

^It's from the Pilot Disk.

Excellent! This will go into the reference folder for the Monitor Box. Hard to get really good images of that panel with all the buttons and stuff. It changes quite a bit from drawing to drawing as well.

Any other interesting Metal Gear images on the Pilot Disk?

DAMN! every update just keeps getting better!

I know what you mean about the artwork...I don't know if most people noticed?
The most interesting thing about designing Snatcher in 3D (for my remake) was noticing all of those differences in Snatcher art across the versions etc.
Then choosing what designs to go with, or finding the perfect balance between the variations is the artistic challenge...kinda fun though.

I'm surprised I didn't post that "Dancing" image in here yet...I'm slacking!
I think there might be 2 more in the "Pilot Disk", so I'll look later today (just woke up), and if you need I can capture a bigger image of that "dancing" one?

I really appreciate the updates! I look forward to them! \:D/

I think the Sega Saturn stays as close to the "blueprints" as any as far as the "Monior Box" goes...so here ya are.
BTW: IF YOU EVER NEED IMAGES FROM ANY SNATCHER GAME JUST LET ME KNOW! (PM here or e-mail) Whatever resolution/image you need!

In this Pilot Disk image, was this a screen that you could play game music or something? Did something animate in the "L" and "R" areas?

Yes, it played 3 tunes, One Night In Neo Tokyo and two others. Also, yes, there was some left and right channel waves displayed when tunes were playing. Nice Metal Gear model by the way. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

I made a video showing this cool little feature! I figured you might want to see it in action?
As far as I know the it doesn't "emulate" the L and R...on a real PC-E I assume it does?

I apologize for the "birds chirping" sound over the audio...that's my HDD being picked up on my soundcard :(

I believe it does, it's just extremely jittery.

Perfect! Cool to see that that section open up to accept a disk. I might try to replicate that down the road if I keep upgrading his capabilities.

Also cool to get to see his little arm in use again. Even in the menu selection!

It's also super fantastic to see those L and R graphs. In some of the artwork and the blueprints they have a block of unreadable text in that area and I wasn't looking forward to guessing what was written there. That digital display is much cooler too. I'll put a a few bar leds in there for overall "robot" effect but probably not make them move... until later. It would be neat to have them slide along with whatever sounds he emits.

Still sanding and shaping the body and head to perfection. Tough to get all the little bumps and divots evened out. I want him to look like a piece of real mass produced equipment and not just a lousy fan-made thing.

I figured you'd enjoy it...

I left the whole "Metal" menu animations in the edit as well so you could see that "arm" in use...
I don't understand why the Japanese versions use the "arm", while its edited out of the American release?
It really adds some extra "use" to Metal...crazy americans...lol!

Got around to putting some more work into this project.

The main torso parts are about as smooth as I can them now.

Image

I started work on the monitor box last night and got quite a bit done.

My table saw prowess is much better on this project. I finally adjusted my tiny table saw to get really accurate cuts finally. No sanding to fit!

Here's the sketch I made to figure out how to approach the construction.

Hopefully soon it will look more like this-

More soon!

Have you ever worked on some over modeling projects, Nick ? You look very talented, so I guess you have some experience in doing that.
