Tori Amos vs Snatcher OST

Post by Pogogacy »

Personally, I have difficulty imagining Tori Amos playing any video games (let alone importing an obscure Japanese adventure game and being so inspired by it as to plagiarise a song from the soundtrack), so this is almost certainly a bizarre coincidence, but the opening piano refrain of Precious Things from her 1992 debut album does sound remarkably similar to Spreading Tension from the Snatcher OST.

Here are the two songs for comparisons sake:

Just thought it was interesting and something no one else seems to have picked up on (did a search and couldn’t find anything). :P

Definitely!
Don't know this chick, though, so maybe somebody else writes her songs / music?
The part from 2:48 - 2:52 (you have to listen to the background instruments to notice it, but it immediately gave me goosebumps because i didn't expect it) definitely sounds like straight out of another song from Snatcher (Theme of Jamie, i think?).
I'd really rule out coincidence...

Yeah I noticed that a long time ago, and there's many other artists who strangely have music that sounds like Snatcher tunes that I could dig up.

I think Tori writes all of her own music (?)...I used to listen to her music thanks to an old grilfriend being a fan at the time.
"DAMN SNATCHERS!"
