Help with the MSX version

Post by Zeether »

I started playing the MSX version of Snatcher on blueMSX, which is my go-to emulator for MSX titles, and I can't seem to load a saved game at all, or at least haven't found a way to load...am I missing something?

did you make sure that you were done saving before shutting the game down? Because in order to save you have to put the first disc in, then it saves, then return the original disc in if you weren't playing on that disc.

IIRC as you boot the game up, around when it asks for a name, it gives you an option for loading.

I might have missed that screen then. I did save properly, so I may just have to wait for the name screen (which takes a long time to come up)

open the options tab and click on "emulation". Set up the MSX machine so that it's "MSXturboR". I haven't compared it but it should load a little faster if my understanding is correct.

MSX version's kind of a pain but it's interesting to play through at least once, I hope you enjoy the experience.

Turbo-R mode does nothing, unfortunately. I think I can manually speed it up though.

I know why I thought I had a problem, you have to sit through the "This game is dedicated to cyberpunks..." thing each time you start. The continue option comes up after the title. Oops! At least now I can enjoy it. I definitely like the MSX version's interface, it makes it easy to pick choices compared to the Sega CD's one.

The translater/hacker added in a fast forward option to the game itself. Hold the control key.
