Ok, so I've tried emulating Snatcher on Fusion and Gens (supposedly the two best Genesis/Sega CD emulators) and both of them refuse to run cut-scenes. It does allow me to skip the opening cut scene by pressing start at the "this is a work of fiction" disclaimer screen so I can play the game, but it always gets stuck at the start of the second cut-scene: the part where Gillian sets off for the abandoned factory in his turbocycle (it basically 'loops' at the shot of Gillian's face that starts at 8:39 in this video, but doesn't allow me to press start to skip or anything- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu4z1ztI ... ure=relmfu).
I've tried playing it on two different PCs and have also had similar problems when trying to run Lunar: Silver Star Story (I can't even get past the title screen of that game!), so I'm almost positive there's something wrong with the way I'm running the emulator. I've never had any problems with any Genesis games on the same emulator fwiw, it just seems to be really awkward with Sega CD ones for some reason.
Any one else experienced this problem or have any ideas what may be causing it?

Re: Snatcher emulator problem
Easy one:
You have a separate folder for Snatcher, containing the game files and mp3s - you have to move all of those files (including the mp3s!) into the folder where the .exe of the emulator itself is located.
I. e. not c:\emulator\Snatcher but c:\emulator
This goes for all Sega CD games: Don't use subfolders for each game but dump every file right in the main directory of the emulator. It might look rather cluttered after a while (and many games) but it's the only way to get things working correctly.
It seems as if gens isn't able to work with audio files located within subfolders.

Wow, I could never deal with having all of my Sega CD games all in the same folder.
What's causing this problem for him?
I'm able to emulate Snatcher in Kega Fusion within a folder without a hitch.

Re: Snatcher emulator problem
It's not THAT bad. Once you start up gens, and say open game, you have only the games sorted by their name anyways. You even save one click since you don't have to open a folder first and THEN click on the file itselfp13t3rm wrote:Wow, I could never deal with having all of my Sega CD games all in the same folder.

^^ This. Kega Fusion's more of a cycle-accurate emulator, similiar to bsnes, but doesn't require such a high system requirement.

Re: Snatcher emulator problem
Kega Fusion kicks ass! Seriously, it fulfills all your Sega needs, aside from Saturn and Dreamcast.
But seriously, the only thing I like better in Gens is the ability to selectively mute sound chips.
Fusion does everything else better.
