Voice Actor Documentary

Hey guys, my name is Jim Shea and I'm working on an interesting project. Of course we're all fans of Snatcher, but I want to do a documentary on the American voice actors for the game. The actor for Gillian Seed (Jeff) has been a cool guy since we talked online, but I thought it would be cool to see what the voice actors are up to now since 1995.

Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated as I want this to be an interesting read.

Thanks!

I got Susan (Gillian's wife Jamie) on board too. I'm just waiting for Jeff L. to respond back so I can get started.

As for Metal Gear's voice actor, she is working for a religious cause, so I do not want you guys to bug her for an interview as I am handling it.

Definitely stay tuned as this will be a fun project/interview!

Awesome idea, and I'm glad to see that you've had success so far in contacting some of the voice actors. Have you reached out to Jeremy Blaustein? I know he's very proud of the work that he and others did on the localization of Snatcher, so I would think that he would be in. It's too bad that Ray Van Steen passed away in 2015. I believe the rest of the cast is alive though.

In the attached picture, the man on the left in the plaid shirt is Jim Parks, the one in the leather jacket is Jeremy Blaustein, the one on the floor is Ray Van Steen, and the man on the far right is Jeff Lupetin. I can take my guesses with the others, but I'm not 100% sure.
Edit: I did a little research, and I'm confident that the women in that photo (from left to right) are Lucy Childs, Susan Mele, Kimberley Harne, and Lynn Foosaner. I still can't confirm the man with the glasses or the (presumably) Japanese man. My best guess is that the man to Jeremy Blaustein's right might be his brother, Michael, who appears in Snatcher's credits.

Ah bummer, so sorry to hear about his death.

However, I do have a sample of what my documentary will be. I've narrowed it down to "The Forgottten Voices of Konami" as in letting the fans know what the voice actors from Konami games from the 90's have been up to. I believe Metal Gear Solid for PS1 is when gamers first took notice of the voice actors of video games, but I think this will get people to understand the better side of who did those voices in games like Sunset Riders or any TMNT arcade game and what they've been doing since then.

As a bonus, here is an interview I recently did with Jeff Lupetin (aka Gillan Seed):

1. Did you play video or arcade games before voice acting?

I loved Area 51 the best. I played a lot of pinball as a kid. I did pinball and slot machine voices for WMS Gaming here in Chicago.
French Chef among others. Once I played a pinball game and my voice was guiding me. Pretty cool.

2.Was voice acting on your mind in the first place before being Gillian Seed in Snatchers?

I started my voice career late in 1983, so I had some a decade or so of voice work at that time. I started out doing promo cartoon voices for WFLD TV here in Chicago.
This all the children's promos for them and then for Super 66, Grant Broadcasting here in Chicago. Check out my video reel on Jeffsvo.com./animation. That has some of the early kids stuff.

3. Were you bothered by the gore and violence in Snatchers; for example, the Chief's rotting corpse in the morgue scene?

No. The Japanese version was racier with me with an underage girl in the shower. That was a new one.

4. Have you done other voice over work before and after Snatchers?

Did a lot of iconic voices for McDonalds.."I AM Hungry" character , Willy Munchright nutritional voices, and lots of bugs for Raid. We got killed alot. Check them out of Jeffsvocom.
We were honored in 2016 for our work at the Museum of Broadcasting here in Chicago.

5. Do you keep in touch with the other voice actors from Snatchers since completing your work?

Jim Parks lives here in Evanston still I believe. Ray Van Steen in Dallas. I don't see any of them though.

6. Was there something or someone that got you into voice acting? Most voice actors I've interviewed contribute Mel Blanc.

I am audio sensitive.I always like mimicing voices, doing sports announcing, impressions etc. Was in my blood. The Voiceover business was a bit underground when I started.
I heard some tapes and thought, Hell, I have been doing this my whole life. I entered at a great time and in a great city to begin. I learned alot from some great Chicago talent.
I like the short form of commercials because of a scattered attention span I guess.
