Post Help with snatcher assets
I'm working on a game, and since I can't draw I decided I'd use Snatcher screens and animations, I tried to go into the iso of the sega cd version to maybe find .png, .jpg, or basically anything I could use in my game, but all I found were misc files, nothing that was called "backgrounds" or "music" or "characters" or whatnot, so I don't know where I could get them or even how to do it, is it different for the sega cd? Do I just have no way to get those backgrounds?

They have to be in there, but you'll likely need a special program to extract them, and I doubt that they'll be in a "modern" file format like .jpg. If anyone would know how to do this I think it would be Artemio, the site owner.

All assets are strored as tiles and palettes. You would need to hack into the files by figuring out their structure and composition. Using a debugger in an emulator and following the 68000 assembly, or viewing the vram would be the first steps.

Then you'd need to write the code to extract and match the tile maps and palettes, or just save the vram layers as bmps.

So how exactly would I go about doing this? I'm not very familiar with emulators and whatnot

You'd need to start by doing the research about all the terms mentioned.

Emulation is just a small part of it.
