Mystery fiction

Mystery has always been my favourite genre in all fiction. From games, to films, to animation, to novels; they are absolutely amazing. I always love the best ones where you are left thinking about it long after it's all over and makes you watch again. They always grip me unlike any other genre out there, and manages to be really powerful somehow; I love Kafka's novels for example, which are full of themes like alienation, conspiracy, personal identity etc whilst retaining those plot twists (something else I absolutely love about mystery fiction) and drama.

Name your favourite mystery fiction this topic;

Games: Anything Kojima, Shenmue I and II, Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk, Max Payne.
Novels: The Trial, Metamorphosis, The Thin Man, Angels And Demons, Falling Angel (personal favourite).
Movies: Angel Heart (also my favourite movie of all time; was based upon the novel Falling Angel), Jacob's Ladder, Strange Days, Memento, The Prestige, The Illusionist, Bourne series, Perfect Blue, Twin Peaks (TV Series, but nonetheless, I had to include it), Mulholland Drive, The Big Heat.

That's all I can think of, for now anyway. If anybody may care to remind me of anymore, that would be great.
