Jack Thompson must be stopped...

He's now blaming the Virginia Tech shootings on video games, and this is only the most recent chapter in his necronomicon of abhorrent behavior. (If you do not know who he is, or what the shootings were, in case you live outside of the U.S., wikipedia has most of the answers.) Please don't accuse me of being insensitive either...the shootings were a terrible tragedy, but had nothing to do with video game's portrayals of violence.

I have played almost every violent video game on the market. I have never killed anyone. If you have never killed anyone, and play games, let Mr. Thompson know. He feels that gamers are
"pimple-faced geeks who use death threats to drive people of faith and with values from the public square,"

These are interesting articles that exhibit this horrible man's desire to destroy what we love...Imagine what would happen if he caught wind of the translation, considering what Policenauts is about, and what is featured in the masterpiece of the Action-Adventure genre. In several years, I will be finishing up law school, my first act as a lawyer will be to stop this demon's attack on that which we love.

I'm pretty sure I can get almost every gaming company to back me up, and Penny Arcade will most likely help spread support, since he has tried to sue the creators of www.penny-arcade.com for alledgedly harrasing him...which was total bull-shit. But I think that what I would need is this. 1,000,000 gamers who have never commited homocide to appear, or at least sign a sworn affadavit. If you feel you can contribute to this, [in several years, so please don't kill anyone between now and then... :) ] please let me know...and please let Mr. Thompson know that you have NEVER commited murder, and that his claims are baseless conjecture.

Sorry if this has gone on a bit to long, but something needs to be done about this injustice. If video games have taught me one thing, it is that we have to stand up for our rights, and to never let oppressors destroy that which we love.

Thanks, everyone.

Nick.

That J.T. dude is such a jackass. Wasn't he supposed to go to prison or something one time?

He should after those recent comments about the Virgina massacre. I mean, everybody else is morning the loss of loved ones and of the tragedy, whilst Jack decide to jump up and shout out his view on things at such an unopportune time. Jackass.

The only thing we can do about this clown is just ignore him. He gets off on our anger.

I don't know about that...all it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing...He's got quite a loud voice, and is constantly leeching on to the media to soapbox his terrible ideas. And congress LISTENS! (You lucky non-U.S. guys...) All I'm asking is for support when the time comes. Thanks again.

Didn't Thompson say something about MGS causing a guy to commit suicide? It wouldn't surprise me if he did. :x :x
