What are your thoughts on this?
Somebody said once that people shouldn't judge a game by just seeing it in action and not playing it. While there are many games I see alot of bad reviews for that I'm willing to play to see for myself, there are some games I feel that I don't need to play and just see in action to see how bad they are. What do you think about this?

Yeah, definitely.
I watch my brother play a lot of games, some that he likes, others that he doesn't, and that's enough for me to know if I'll enjoy it or no.
It's like watching a movie, because you can't make decisions or interact whatsoever, you just watch. But you know someone is making those things, so you are indirectly experiencing the game, imo.
So, sometimes, a review or video-review is enough for me.

When I first got a job, I decided (rather foolishly) that I'd try to buy all sorts of games that I've been interested in, but never bought. During this, I found out that I didn't really enjoy many of the games, and I would have been better off spending my money elsewhere. It taught me that you can't simply buy games if there's something that interests you about it, you have to be quite critical of games before you decide whether or not to buy them. It may mean that you end up ignoring some potential classics, but if you want to do something other than play games 24/7, you're never going to play through every classic game. If I wasn't so critical of games that I've never played, then I would have ended up with all sorts of crap. I'm never going to buy another "Simple 2000" series game again, that's for sure.
