Hey, neither will I. I have to apply for every grant possible plus wait until next year when the NEW G.I Bill takes effect. I don't see how taking 1/2 a million dollar luxury vacation is investing our wealth. It seems like a wasteful spending to me (by the way, they've asked for ANOTHER 37.8 BILLION dollars on top of the 85 BILLION dollars they got loaned last month!).

Sorry, but if your company is in a financial crisis, you DON'T go spending 1/2 a million of fucking pedicures. They need to hang for this.

The vacation is one thing but the long term effects of them failing will come back to bite us in the ass.

Anyone who still doubts that this world is shaped by conspiracy, I hope this was a wake-up call to them.

I would define a conspiracy as when two or more people get together in secret to plan a wrongful act. By that definition, there are hundreds of conspiracies taking place in virtually every country every day. As much as it's uncomfortable to talk about, conspiracies do happen; the events that led us into this mess are one example of that: The financial elite of the world are putting us closer and closer to global government, and indeed, we've already heard calls for a police force for the banking system as well as a new world currency system. This was no accident. Wait for more such rhetoric after this financial summit next week.

Another example this crisis has given us is how truly subservient government is to financiers. It's just breathtaking, absolutely breathtaking. They cause the crisis, then they have the gall to saddle the taxpayer with paying for it. Let's fund our own enslavement. This is how these people see us.

Yeah, I can agree with you on pretty much all of that. It's ludicrous too, since there have been a few people over here losing their homes, who are wanting to throw themselves off buildings, set themselves on fire (no exaggeration, this actually happened) etc and the bankers themselves are freed from any such turmoil. A few of them are losing their jobs, but in the long run, they had such a large salary to begin with, that it's still annoying as hell. It is disgusting to see. Money talks, and that's life and such, but it still sucks.

So that proves their conspiring? That doesn't prove anything, except that they don't people knowing where that money went, perhaps so people wont try to steal it, I don't know. In any case I am interested in the Auto Bailout, I think we needed it because our Auto industry is all we have, its what we do. Now that the bailout didn't go through I wonder what will happen if GM and Crystler die, hopefully Ford can pick up the slack but then the pressure might kill them to and then what do we have? Nothing, no export, except maybe corn.

Ford isn't too far behind GM and Chrysler. They don't need help now "but its survival is far from certain." according to this article; http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081212/ap_ ... ress_autos

I read this part and felt an urge to jump up and explain how Reaganomics is different from real free-market capitalism, but then I read more of it and then read your next post.
James_The_Stampede wrote:What do I suggest? Letting the market do it's thing and giving them exactly what they've always wanted (Unregulated, unsupervised capitalism with no government intervention) . Fail hard enough and maybe they'll reconsider their approach.
Then I thought "sweet. I'm not alone here."
I just never want to hear these "Free market" capitalists ever cry about socialism again. The market did it's thing with no oversight and it fell on its ass, now they want the government to help out these rich assholes. Healthcare for everyone? That's ABSURD! Bailouts for failed corporate ventures? GENIUS!
Now I'm confused...
Commander_AK-47 wrote:Good point, but if we don't help the rich people we will all eventually fall.
This kind of thinking is why capitalism has a bad name. Despite criticizing unregulated markets, what James_The_Stampede described WAS capitalism, in its purest form (though I have problems with how he implies big companies want free-markets. They don't. They want the State to protect them with things like... bailouts.) If the government didn't create such a massive moral hazard with the system this wouldn't have happened. Protecting the rich only makes things worse and gives Socialists more reasons to bitch about capitalism. We don't need "rich people." We need free competition. And nothing kills competition more than the government nationalizing the losses of private businesses, all at the taxpayer's expense.
