Being that the original is a 1 to 1 copy of the comic by the creator and Rodriguez, I don't see why not. Have you read the rest of the comics? They are as good as the ones shown in the first.

I don't think A Dame to kill for was a great choice for the movie's spine. It's entertaining but it just doesn’t match the other stories.

Then it is not a matter of the movie and it's quality as such you are discussing, but of the stories selected for it, right?

Well, since it's a carbon copy of the graphic novels the stories selected can make or brake the movie.

I usually garde a movie principally for it's story as well, but being that you already know the story of this movie then you can only value it in the new medium for what that medium brings to the table. Being the case you don't agree with that point, and since that point makes the discussion mute for me I believe that is all I'd have to say.
