Nicknames

Post by Emppu »

Yeah. This topic's idea is simple, tell us why you are using your current nickname here, and how you did invent it?

I am using nickname "Emppu" everywhere, where I can. It is a very common nick in Finland, so if you see somebody, who's nick is Emppu, don't be sure that it's me. Emppu is my real nickname, so why shouldn't I use it on the forums? ;)

If nick Emppu can't be used, I use nick "EmppuKV" or something like that.

My cousin's called Emppu...:)

My username is the name of a character in Final Fantasy VI. I dunno why I still use it, but it has always been my username wherever I post.

My name comes out of a love for irony.

I'm into both anime and punk rock culture, but I don't fit in well with most people in both groups and, even if I did, I could care less about them. The X is just a random thing I threw in there, kind of a nod towards "straight-edge" culture but not really, since I'm not affiliated with them either.

My nickname comes from my love of domesticated rats. There acutely great little pets. Very affectionate towards there owners. There bred to be that way. The 665 comes from the record number of years a pet rat lives. Three years is the average lifespan. Five to six years is the record.

Well basically "Rudi" is derived from my real name, and since there was this show host in Germany Rudi Carell (who recently died) people started calling my Der Rudi (Der = The in german). I've just that nick DerRudi for a long time, till on IRC this little girl started calling me MrRudi (I was a friend of her mother) and I was so surprised by how polite she was that I changed it for her, and never changed it back afterwards.

Also keeps people from thinking I am German btw :)

Why My Nickname?

"MADE IN DNA" is a very little known reference to Shirow Masamune. 1000 Snatcher Points to anyone who can tell me where it's from. ;)

I'm guessing it's a Ghost In The Shell: Stand-Alone Complex soundtrack (I think I read the name somewhere before). I'm probably wrong, but I'll never pass up the chance to gain "Snatcher Points".

OH.... sorry. Great try. Actually I should probably point out that it's really old. You'll have to dig into his older works to find it. Best of luck! Cuz hey, you can NEVER have too many SNATCHER POINTS! ;)

Hmmm Black Magic? I'd have to read that again to be sure...

Hum, Shinji is the name of the main NGEvangelion character. PG it's a secret that few people know ^^; I never revealed it and will not do it in this forum.
I have this nickname since I remember internet :P
Once in a while I also use Lheure, which comes from L'heure (the hour), and it's a L'arc-en-Ciel song.
