Policenauts prequel/sequel

Post by Marc »

Anyone think a sequel or prequel to the game starring Jonathan in Old LA would be interesting? He could solve cases that come to his private eye service. The game alludes to one of his past cases when you click on the strip bar with gene therapied-transvestite (called biovestites) dancers on the street outside his office.

Or have him negotiate the return of a kidnap victim. I guess the main problem would be that Jonathan is really a pastiche, and all his adventures would be like Lethal Weapon or Die Hard or something. Except without a black sidekick.

Yeah, no sidekick is another problem. I wouldn't want to see it myself; the idea just appeared in a dream I had, though instead of still images, the game was presented in a 3D hand-drawn style (if that makes sense) with full background movement of objects and characters.

HAAHAHAH That my friend just made me shit my pants.

But yeah, I've been thinking the same lately, the world of PN is so interesting and full of likable characters that you could never go wrong. Like almost branch the game out into chapters or extended acts like a Book or play, and you'd learn a ton about John's life before and after the sabotage, and more politics of the future concerning earth and Beyond coast molding then to the complete PN story in itself. Kojima just molded something that could spur upon infinite depths of interests as he did with Snatcher's world and information. And the complexed action wouldn't be too decedent to steer away from the great story as... Metal Gear... but over mask it with it's gorgeous enviromental spurrrrrrrrs. Yeah, and that bullshit.
