Hmm, I just looked him up on google. I guess he's some moderator on 1up.com, but from what I gather, most people hate him because he's very superficial. After reading so much about him, it makes me feel sick that this forum's been dirtied with his presence. Maybe he'll leave. He's like Chuck Norris except not cool, and WAY more of a jerk. And he certainly doesn't have a right to waltz in here, and say that his name should be slapped onto the patch to make it more famous across the internet. Everyone here has already accepted the fact that Policenauts is an alternative game. Maybe someday it'll be big, and thousands of people will come here to get the patch, but I don't think it'll ever be considered mainstream. And frankly, the community here is better than on most forums, because it's smaller. I don't think I'd be too happy if these forums were flooded with traffic. I think the reason that I'm still on this forum is BECAUSE it's a very alternative forum. I don't want someone like dhaosdante to change that.

Ok quick question. I'm new to the board but very interested in this project. My question is why is the 3do version considered the worst version? Now if you patch the 3do version wouldn't you be able to burn it and play it on a 3do? I just obtained a copy of Policenauts Pilot Disc and it plays just fine...but it'd be amazing if I could patch it and play it on my 3do. I hate emulating and much preffer to play on actual hardware. I don't have the ability to burn or play copied ps1 games so that's why I want the 3do version.

The 3DO version loads slow, certain graphics look very ugly, the compression gives the game a pixellated look, and they removed bits of dialogue for no reason. That's why it's prioritized last.

I dunno where to put this, but I think it's semi-related, as it has to do with features on the translation site:
When is something going to happen with the books/secrets/paper tabs on the Policenauts.net site? Secrets is self explainatory, but I'm clueless as to what the heck the other two options are. :| I also clicked on the notes tab and it brings me to a blank page. Under the Gallery, a few options are crossed out, screenshots and artwork. There is a topic started by solide (I don't know how to do the accent mark, sorry) that has nearly 300 pictures that may be used (though for spoiler reasons only early scenes should be shown) and there's at least one topic where someone put up the Visual Data Book for download (Although Kissdreams linked a sort of database with scans in lion589's topic, which can be found here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2788 ) which you could get some artwork pics from. Maybe our site will be more complete than the Mother 3 translation site!

The "Books" section will contain translations of the staff commentaries and interviews featured in Japanese Policenauts strategy guides. "Paper" refers to the undergraduate dissertation I wrote at university, which discusses game translation and draws examples from the Policenauts translation. I don't know when either section will be completed.

I hadn't noticed the "Notes" section error. I've mentioned it to Artemio. Thanks for pointing that out.

We may consider fleshing out the "Gallery" section too.
