First off, I'd like to thank the Policenauts team for the exhaustive hours they've put into making this project a reality. This game borders on being a work of art, and I'm very impressed with the quality of the product.

Anyway, I'm having some issues while practicing in the shooting range. In a typical play-through I can complete a training session and arrive at the results screen with little problem. However, due to a certain bet with Meryl, I've been working on beefing up my score and, to do that, I've been relying on save states to obtain the best possible shots. Unfortunately, if I save then load a save state at any point in the middle of practice then the game freezes when it should go on to the results screen.

Any suggestions, guys? I'm afraid I don't have the dexterity or the patience to do this without bending the rules, so any ways around this problem would be much appreciated!

I keep having this problem, I downloaded the files, originally in .mdf format to which I converted them using Magiciso and when that failed I redid it with Ultraiso and still got the same problem. Could somebody please help me, I noticed a few others have the same problem and wondered if someone could hear our cries for help and give a solution to it once and for all

Thanks.

Just rename the .mdf to .iso and it should work.

Totally groovy that the patch is out....but I cant get the mother fucker to go. Im getting that unable to find files message when i try to patch it. Ive made multiple different isos and none have worked, i went through the command promt, i did the altering "-n" thingy....and nothing has worked. Im going insane, I need to get this going. My college classes start monday and i was hoping to treat myself to some Policenauts before juming into the books =P

If you get that message it is because a file named Policenauts2.iso is not there, there is no other option. The OS is not finding that file.

It can be that you really have a Policenauts2.iso.iso file, etc. To really make sude, open a dos prompt, go to the folder when you have the stuff (for instance type cd c:\Policenauts if that's where ytou have it) and then type dir. That will list all the files as they are really named. To make them match simply rename them with the move command or from windows.

Use a different video plug-in. e}I{'s gave me trouble during a few choice scenes in disc 1.

Right now I'm using PSX instead of ePSXe because generally it's running the game MUCH better for me. (Even if the ending credits don't work.)

However now I'm having troubles with the sound sync during FMV's again, (Which wasn't an issue with ePSXe 1.7.0) It doesn't matter whether I select Vsync or not. Only when I disable sync sound is the audio in sync with the FMV's, but then I get those annoying crackling noises throughout the game so that's not an option either.

And apart from that, in some FMV's the sound will stop a few seconds too early, even after disabling sync sound.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

I've messed around with all the plugins but no luck so far. I've tried using save states in a few different places and it seems that, when using them, the game freezes anytime you load a state then try to move to a different screen...it wouldn't be a problem since you can save anywhere but it's pretty tricky when getting a high score in the shooting range....any ideas?

My best advice to you is don't use save states; just use the memory cards to save instead...

The game will freeze if use esc at any time, especially during the spoken dialogue, shootouts or puzzle sequences. That's just a fault on the emulators part I;m afraid and beyond anything that the developers of this patch or any of us can do. The ePSXe team were informed about this glitch and that's all that can be done I'm afraid. Sorry.

Hey, I'm having a shitload of issues with running this game. I get through the entire opening movie scenes and when it goes to gameplay it's a black screen and all I can see is the cursor.

I downloaded pre-patched ISOs from http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=116112.

I'm running epsxe 1.7.0

Pete's D3D Drivers 1.77

Any help would be appreciated.

I was emulating the game via ePSXe, I load a savegame, then this weird thing happened. The game starts where I were, in Chris Goldwin's office, but right then it jumps me to Tokugawa Pharmaceuticals outside. I'm not sure if I lost any data, but I will back up that memory card file if you guys want it.

I successfully patched the game & converted the ISO's to EBOOT.pbp files with Popstation GUI 300, but when I run the patched ISOs on my PSP, it just goes to a black screen after the Sony logo comes up (the orange diamond thing, not the PlayStation logo). It doesn't turn itself off because I can still press "Home" and it will go to a PSP menu with all the options one finds when running a converted PSone game on their PSP. Has anyone had this problem before?

My setup is:

*PSP Slim 'n' Lite (PSP 2000)
*Custom firmware M33 3.71

probably not the one you're looking for, but play Time Crisis and other twitch-based stationary shooters. It'll make you better at it.

Thanks Artemio, you were right  went through the command prompt and saw that the names were double iso (Policenauts1.iso.iso) just subtracted the written "iso" and it patched perfectly. Burned with imgburn and played it all last night, loving every second of it. You guys did an amazing job.

Damn im one of the original members, ive been here since 2004....feels good to have been apart of this for so long :D

The only problem I had was that the audio went off sync at the 2 parts both emulated and actual PS1 hardware at the same place
Spoiler:
Where Jonathan first met Ed and when Jonathan was leaving at the end
. But then again I got the ISO from MetalGearAlex (AKA Akor I think) when I gave him Ryan Payton's email address which I've seen he's created quite a rep here ¬_¬ I've got the original game sealed away so I'll just patch that and it should be ok.

OK; here's the memory cards from ePSXe. Use MC02.

Sorry I accidentally posted this in the feature requests thread

ust a quick report on some time inconsistencies I noticed while playing.

Spoiler:
At the beginning of the game in Jonathan's office when you look at the article about his rescue from the survival pod, it refers to the article being written 3 years ago and 25 years after his accident. If his accident happened in 2013 and the game takes place in 2040, shouldn't that be 2 years. The next one I noticed is while your in the lunar facility talking to Salvatore. He says man first walked on the moon 70 years ago. Again, noting that the game takes place in 2040 shouldn't that be 71.

Thanks again for all the hard work. The game was a great read.

EDIT: went back and tried it three different times with epsxe, but they all gave similar results even with the proper plugins... the closest I got was hearing the credits BGM but only seeing a black screen.... and after the music stopped it just hung there.
