"The translator of MGS offered to translate this game..

Post by Marc »

...for free on Konami's message boards."

I think this rumor got started as an amalgamation of Nick Rox offering to translate the game as a job, and some dude offering to do it for free with his Japanese teacher. As far as I can tell, Jeremy Blaustein never posted there. (http://snatcher100.home.att.net/snatche ... phorum.htm)

Unless I'm missing something? Oh well. We can always hope Konami will release it one day.

No, this was 5 years ago. Konami and Kojima have no plans to release it now.

I just find the rumor annoying because people seem to repeat it without checking it first.

It was slutted like the Paris Hilton phone pics 5 years ago. I remember having like 10 people emailing me non stop about it. And I think someone found out that dude there was like a horny stubbed teenager trying to gain some priority and attention. (jk/ing)

Nick Rox...isn't he that cat from Gamefan that had the special ability to count how many frames per second there was in a fighting game?

Dunno bout that ability but he did work for Gamefan, yeah. Man that was a great magazine. His article on PS Policenauts is where I first found out about it. No other mag did import coverage back then like Gamefan did.

Yeah, that's the one.

Totally off-topic, but am I the only one who noticed the significance of this particular topic's #? ;)

Also there was another message board that discussed that 'blue shadows' review... it was a comment about SF Alpha/Zero on the Saturn.
