in english :

Thanks spike, but my girlfriend has been faster than you :D

The manual is fully translated and corrected, the timeline and the glossary are also
in a good hands.

I'm also verifying with my original Policenauts the translated walkthrough. I have made some very good progress and i'm actually on ACT 3 - DRUG. The bomb defusing is quite nice too ;).

My translation will be really good, and also, i have done something great. i have keep
the right sense of the text and it does the same amount of lines. I think Policenauts
in french will be really brilliant, and very accurate !

It looks like we'll be able to add a Polish translation to the list of other language versions.

So, how many different language versions are official?

If it's not out of line, I'm wondering how the progress on the project is coming along. I don't mean to be one of those people, but, to be truthful, now that I've secured my copy, I'm even more excited than before. Just to hear how the progress is coming along is enough for me.

I highly appreciate what your group has been doing. This is a huge task you guys have undertaken. We all support you completely.

*groan* Anyone come up with some new praise that's not the same exact thing we've all been saying over and over since January? How awfully tiring it must be to hear the same unimaginitive reverence over and over.

I understand - I felt a bit redundant typing it, as well. At the very least, it shows the ongoing appreciation the team is receiving for their hard work. Plus, my request in the above post is a potential sore spot for the team. Therefore, it just seemed right to include it. I guess it's one of those things that seems rude to exclude and repetitious otherwise. Nevertheless, if I feel it's appropriate and necessary, it finds its way into my post. :P

Impressive work you've all done, Artemio and Osiris! I'm very excited about this, especially after seeing those magazine samples and how professional the translation looks! My deepest thanks to everyone involved.

If that's ok with you guys and since I'm a native Portuguese speaker, I could also do a Portuguese translation. I suspect there are a lot of portuguese speaking people who would be interested in playing this game. My Portuguese, though, is from Portugal, not Brazil, which is slightly different from Brazilian (especially in slang and such), but it is perfectly understandable for Brazilian players of course, which would represent the majority of the target audience.

So, when everything is ready, I'm free to do it. I feel just a bit intimidated by the sheer amount of text (which is so huge I forgot the number of pages), but it's certainly doable.

I'm back!

So...
Thankyou for welcoming me to the forum, and... thanks for telling me that even you guys don't know when the patch(es) will be released.

I mean... it's like one of those superheroes...
His identity is SOOO secret, that even he (or she) doesn't know who he really is.

Too bad.

How bout this for some unique reverence!
You make me want to roll around in jello and say "SWEETNESS!" to all the hard work you guys (nongender specific, don't worry!) have been doing.

By the way, I hope you figure something out soon, cuz I'm getting all sticky just thinking about the release.

Know what? This release is so important to many Kojima fans, that...
you guys should start calling it THE RELEASE (with caps and little sparkleys around it.)

Bye!

HAHAA
I'm going to make cutout dolls or something to commemorate *THE RELEASE.* Or make FMVs. Or make plushies. Or cosplay. Or make a shrine. Or write a tome of yaoi fanfiction. Or whatever it is that maniacal fans do.

The only thing that could make the concept of fanfiction worse is yaoi fanfiction.

As always, we'd love to have you do another language translation. :)

We haven't said a concrete date because we don't know ourselves! If we give a month then don't make it, people will ask us why it hasn't been released. So it's kind of a lose-lose situation, you know? As soon as we feel comfortable setting a timeframe, we will. It's not because we secretly know when it's coming out and enjoy keeping it from people. These things just take time.

You should see the trailers very, very soon, however. This we can say, right Snatcher?

Okay, thanks for the opportunity. I'll do my best!

Browsing through policenauts.net, I found that a pertinent question hasn't been addressed in the FAQ - Is there going to be a pornolized version of the patch?

Hahaha, I can see it now - Post the script as a webpage, then send it through the "pornolizer."

By the way, thanks for the update, Osiris! (I'd give you more praise, but I've overdone it enough as it is.) :P

Now that I think about it, the upcoming trailer won't give much away, will it?

I actually had an idea of posting an April Fool's version on April 1st, where we mess around with the text. It would require more work on top of everything else, though.

There are 3 trailers, which are the trailers Konami released for the PC-98, 3DO and Saturn versions. They'll have English subtitles for everything on the bottom of the screen. These are not video captures of someone playing through the English patch.

I see - Nevertheless, it's a great bonus in addition to the patch itself! I was just wondering if I should watch them or avoid them to keep the story from being spoiled. (I know little about the Policenauts plot - I've barely seen any screen shots of the game!)

They do have spoilers, like all Kojima trailers do. They might just not be spoilers now that you don't know about the game. Kojima's trailers are the kind that get you thinking: "How he got that big thing into the trailer?!?". I believe that you should decide this based on 2 things:

1) If you have not been bothered by MGS trailers or ZOE trailers, go ahead.
2) You shouldn't try to analyze them too much, they are not trying to hide anything, they are trying to get you excited (and man, I love to watch them).

The spoilers are not a big thing that you might already know, it is all a matter of personal taste. I generally prefer not to watch movie trailers when it is a movie I do care about a lot, but sometimes I simply can't get enough and watch/read everything I can about an upcoming thing.

I'm the same way - If I can avoid them, I do. Otherwise, it's a huge event for me and I can't stop myself. In the case of Policenauts, I'll wait until after I've played through the game. However, I definitely appreciate the effort you guys went through to provide this as well as the project itself. You're treating your fans extremely well.
