We would never keep such a translation for ourselves or charge people for it.

That's even more McAwesomely, then!

If it's not too bold to ask, how's the translation coming along?

I've been hanging for it! I know a lot of other people have, too. :D

Same status as before. If there is any progress, we will post about it.

I can't remember the progress. I'm sorry about that.

I don't have time to read through all six pages of the thread. Too much homework, eh?
Goddam year nine, it sucks the bag and chokes.

All you need to do is check the last page of the thread, that's where any update will be.

Exactly what are you doing to translate it? Are you trying to extract the Japanese text files so you can translate it word for word?

Posted: Fri Jul 21, 2006 7:17 am
by Marc
Yes. We're still working on producing a text dump to allow us to do that.

How are you going about doing it, if it's not too bold to ask?

I do have a legit question; How is text handled during the FMV segments? Is it pre-encoded in the videos, or do they have a special subtitle file for it? (Sorry for the noob question, I'm not familliar with how that works.)

I don't know if this project has any hopes of success, but just so you know, there's two generous gentlemen on the digital press forum that seem to be offering $4,500 to help along with the translation and programming of the game. Link to thread.
The latest offer is at the bottom of the second page of the thread.

Odd thing.. he says he contacted me, butI don't recall that. Anyway, the original poster wants to have the original beta, for collecting purposes...

It isn't a question of whether we want to do it or not, but of programming. We have 2 professional programmers working on it right now. These things just take time.

If it's not too bold to ask, do you guys know roughly (even very roughly) when it'll be at least near completion?

Posted: Fri Aug 11, 2006 1:02 am
by Artemio
No. if we knew that'd mean we'd have already solved all the problems, and thus, no need to wait would be necessary.

If you guys are just taking parts of the script and translating it, i'll help using a japanese translator, and english common sense to make it sound good.

If you want to send me part of the script or something.

What do you mean by a Japanese translator? A person or a program?
