It sounds like he's using a program, which I really don't know if it's such a good idea, IMHO, since they're usually not 100% accurate. Although if your Japanese is good enough I suppose having one of those computer translators assist wouldn't be so bad.

The thing is there's just so much text (even the PSX version's on 2 discs, right?) and not to mention the way its stored, I think that was the primary problem.

Thanks, but don't worry about that. Osiris' Japanese level is impressive, the real work to be done is technical.

What sort of technical problems? Maybe people on these Forum boards can assist with that... From observation, there's a lot of people with a lot of know-how on these boards. ^^

Is RISC for the Saturn version? (is under the impression that the PSX is a MIPS processor)

If anyone's wondering, the old "wave" logo and its sound effect came from a take on the word "konami" itself ("little wave").

Speaking of which, the PC-98 version of Policenauts has to have the best-sounding version of it. It's like the THX of the Konami logo.

ooh I'd love to hear that... also does the PC98 version of the game use the KCE Japan ditty like the one on MGS for PSX? If not, when did that start? the PSX version?

No, the tune you hear in MGS1 is the main theme of Policenauts.

The console versions of Policenauts (and other Konami games of the time) turned the Konami wave into this demented walking man, at least in Japan.

Oh, my mistake. (Also I know there was a thread about it on here, oops...)

But you were right... That there's a ringtone waiting to happen :P (now if I could just figure out if I can get it onto my phone... :P)

Hey guys.

What's the new word on the translation?

The new word is still the old word, I'm afraid. If there's any progress we'll announce it here. Snatcher is just speaking from the point of when the project began 5 years ago. (Can't believe it's been that long... Time flies all right.)

Anyone proficient in MIPS ASM should contact Snatcher, either by email or PM.

You know, for those curious there's some more Policenauts videos (of the intro this time) that've surfaced on youtube. They're of the PC9821 version, though through an emulator...

Yeah, great way to open the game. I prefer it over the intro in the console versions. Everyone should watch those videos.

Don't worry, we're still working on it. If there's anything to announce, this is where we'll do it.

Out of curiosity, how often do you guys work on the project?
