well
the first thing is the great respect I have for Snatcher, Osiris and everybody else involved in the project
never met people with such a passion
I think that NOT asking for money is not only very kind of you but also wise
so to avoid any possible kind of legal problem
now I'm probably just being crazy but...
have you guys considered the idea of contacting Konami, tell'em what you've done and start working for them??
just imagine what a Kojima game with a "proper" English adaptation would be

In my opinion, not as good as a fan-made one. They're keeping the original Japanese voices so the chance of a mediocre English dub is eliminated. Also, "official" translations have things localized or changed rather inexplicably, due to their commercial nature- the point is to sell more. Since these guys are doing it for the love of the game, and Osiris is a pro translator, it'll most definitely be better than a "proper" English adaption, as he said before.

Thanks guys, your faith means a lot to us. It would be nice if this project did something for Snatcher and Policenauts overseas, but any such progress would have to come from Konami contacting us, not the other way around.
However, since there was nothing on either title at Gamers Day (we waited to launch until after the event, just in case), it's probably best not to get any hopes up.

Of course, the Gamer's Day event was a huge disappointment for me, especially considering it IS Konami and all.

Didn't you guys talk about adding English voice overs to the PSX translation sometime in the (possibly distant) future? I know that'd be a ton of MORE work and a whole different thing to take on, but thought I saw it mentioned.
I know the King's Quest remakes and it's sequel-in-development have full voice-overs and are fan-made.
Not really anyone's concern right now for Policenauts, in any case, and rightfully so.

We only made fun out of it.
I believe we all prefer the voices in Japanese with the subtitles, and also that a really professional team of voice actors would be needed, with tons of money and resources (from our limited budget perspective at least).

Speaking of voice overs, I just read through Policenauts.net and found out that Hideo Kojima himself has a little voice acting part. I'm looking forward to hear him.
Although, I guess it's just a small part concidering that he's only referred to as AP officer 2, the character hasn't even got a real name.

Good! Dubbing isin´t always the best option. (we don´t want another Siren right?)

Yeah and besides, I can see people fighting over the parts as Jonathan and Tony. I'd personally like to go for a smaller part like Jun Ishida if the offer came up for a fan dubbing (my favourite of the smaller roles in the game).
Oh and yeah, I much prefer it in the original Japanese voice track, they all nailed the roles perfectly for each character I think, many of them have also played some of my favourite anime characters also and I always watch anime in its original Japanese language, same for this game.

Less chance of fucking up, and I like the character a lot anyway, easily my third favourite character in the whole game.

You could null the whole issue by getting someone to cast everyone who tried out for the parts. I elect whoever hates the idea the most hahahahha~

One of my friends is a professional comedian, and an actor on the side. He's not a gamer though (although he loves Resident Evil and Crazy Taxi) and he pretty much hates anime () so I doubt he'd be interested in helping out if anyone was to dub it. He has connections, but I doubt anyone would get involved without the prospect of getting paid anything.

Heh. I actually am not that bad an actor you know (I've picked up an award or two from my drama class). But I wouldn't want to ruin what was already done so perfectly already (Japanese voice overs), there is no point.

It would be pretty funny if we all got together to do this. It can't turn out any worse than Symphony of the night, right?

By the way, is it also possible to play the patched Policenauts ISO on a PS2 with hard drive and HD loader?

Im pretty sure HD loader cant copy ps1 games. I think the only way to play it on the ps2 is to buy Breaker Pro and use it with either a flip top or Slide tool. Its cheap, i got mine for about 15 bucks.

I did without problem. I was playing it in Japanese last night. I tried the Books and original versions.
I was going to test Snatcher, but after building the eboot, the PSP battery died on me, and I left the charger at the office. It'll have to wait to tomorrow I guess.
