The-MagicBox.com wrote:In the latest issue of Famitsu, Keiji Inafune from Capcom said he would be gladly to co-operate with Hideo Kojima from Konami. Tht two producers have previously created cross over battles in Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django and Rockman Battle Network EXE 5 for GBA.
With any luck it'll be on a bigger name game than boktai or Megaman Battle Network.

Creator of Mega Man and Onimusha. He has a lot of teeth, too.

wow, merging, hope Konami take Capcom, then we can see some better Resi games, maybe they will take over the world much like how Tescos seem to be. That guy does have alot of teeth, and wisdom too to make the great Onimusha, that would be cool to see MG and Onim linked somehow, though doubtful too

Personally, with RE4, I don't think that even Kojima himself could improve the series, now.
Having Kojima Productions so close to Clover Studios and Grasshopper is a very exciting idea, though. :D Okami, MetalGear, killer7, Castlevania, Snatcher, Resident Evil, Contra, Bishi Bashi Special, Devil May Cry, Gradius, Viewtiful Joe and Zone Of the Enders all under one roof? I'd love to see that happening! (If you didn't guess, I'm quite a fan of Action/Adventure games)

You didn't know who Keiji Inafune was? Philistine!

Is that supposed to be a compliment or a criticism? Personally, I think RE4 was the best game in the series since RE2, even if it basically had nothing to do with the previous games (it's only flaw in my opinion).

A Kojima-directed RE game wouldn't be so bad (anything is an improvement over the movies), but his heavy-handed style just doesn't fit RE in my opinion.

I would like to see Kojima's online zombie game idea come into fruition as a Resident Evil spinoff (Outbreak sucks).

Uh, Killer7 was done mainly by Grasshopper Manufacture, not Capcom. Capcom merely published it.

Compliment... I really have to look at the game quite deeply before I notice any faults.
And isn't Grasshopper Manufacture a division of Capcom? I remember Shinji Mikami having a big part in making killer7.

Nope, whole different company (although, Mikami did co-produce and co-wrote killer7 with Suda).

Prior to Killer7, Grasshopper did a few games published by other companies, such as Michigan, Flower Sun & Rain and The Silver Affair. They all seem to inhabit the same fictional universe too from my understanding.

But killer7 was part of the Capcom 5 (RE4, VJ, k7, PN 03 and the unreleased Dead Pheonix). Don't they have full rights to the killer7 IP?

I'm pretty sure the IP is owned by both companies, since the copyright text on the game has both companies' names. It's still mostly Grasshopper's game though.

Really? As far as I'm concerned, nothing comes close to topping the REmake. Not even RE4. Here's hoping they give RE2 a make-over in the near future though.

I liked the Remake, but it didn't have the same non-stop feel of excitement and even fear as RE4. The new way of storing items in RE4, item buying and enemies that differently due to speciffic points that you hit them made the game deeper, too. It almost feels like a completely new series. Now I have trouble playing a early RE game without wishing it played like RE4.

I completely agree that the improvements were a welcome addition. I loved the controls --well, as good as they can get on a GC controller anway-- and there were some terrific moments of action in the game. But as for all-out fear, the REmake was definitely more overwhelming. I also prefer the atmosphere, as well as the down-to-earth storyline (at least in comparison to other games in the series). RE4 is an action game first and foremost. Though I must admit, that section where you were being hunted by that creature while waiting for the elevator was pretty frightening.

I found myself walking the whole time in the REmake, while I was always running in other RE games.

I just had a bad idea pop in my head that when Capcom runs out of ideas again they're gonna go back and remake all the RE games with RE4's engine.

That might not be so bad. However, I wouldn't worry about Capcom running out of ideas. They already ran out years ago, which would be why they've essentially done the same thing again and again with Dino Crisis, Onimusha, Haunting Ground, and all the Resident Evil sequels before RE4. Capcom knows how to bleed a good thing dry. Expect another ten years of RE4-like sequels and variations using that same formula.

Incase you haven't been following HIDEOBLOG, Kojima mentioned that he hadn't seen Keiji Inafune since Leipzig (well, until November that is), so I doubt much is happening anytime soon.
