In Metal Gear Solid 4 :
Spoiler:
Little black robots in act 4, end of act 5 reminds me Insectors (Snatcher).
I think the fight MG REX vs. MG Ray is a reference to Zone of the Enders.
At the beginning of Snatcher, Gibson calls on the videophone in need of help, in MGS4, Naomi send a video message to Otacon and Snake... "Snake, rescue me".
Raiden is here to protect Snake, in Snatcher, Random Hajile is here to protect Gillian.

seems like those are bit to broad. But I can see where you're making connections.

I don't know if this is enough to make a connection, but I was thinking of this :
In Metal Gear Solid, Meryl is captured by Foxhound, and we can see her only at the end of the game.
In Snatcher, Jamie is captured by the Snatchers and we can only see her at the end of the game.

You know, I thought the exact same thing when I saw those.

Also, MGS4/Policenauts spoilers:
Spoiler:
I had a discussion on here about the comparison to Ninja Raiden's 'white blood' and the stuff used on the 'frozeners' in Policenauts, they said it was a different substance altogether?

Um, I dunno if this counts. But replaying MGS2 I noticed that the computer Snake uploads the photos of RAY onto is stated to be an MSX when it's booted. It's not the first time that the MSX's existence has been explictly stated in the series either. In MG2 it was a plot device for a wee bit.

MGX appears during boot, not MSX.

It is a take on a MG Unix variant (hence MGX) the full boot text is on any error page at Junker HQ (for instance http://junkerhq.net/error )

MGS4
The description of the Five-seveN mentions it was used by Snake in Galuade (Metal Gear: Ghost Babel reference).

Anyone thinks that Dr.Takiyama's attire in MGA2 resembles Naomi's clothes on MGS4?

Aren't they just typical scientist clothes ?

And I think Naomi wore a turtleneck sweater during MGS1, not a blouse.

I was just recently going through the MetalGear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Database, and making sure that i had clicked on and read everything to get a %100* rating on it (wich i have).

And I was VERY surprised to come across a direct connection between MGS and Snatcher!

If you look in the database there's a topic called "Snatcher Project"

here is what it says :

Snatcher Project :

An experiment proposed by Dr. Drago Petrovich Madnar to use medical cybernetic technology to create a cyborg (cybernetic organism).

Subjects would undergo surgery to replace their bodies with artificial organs : only the head and brain would remain.
The rejection response would be less svere than for a full cyborg. After his death at the hands of Solid Snake, Big Boss became the first test subject.

When he was found after his battle with Solid Snake, Big Boss had lost both arms, both legs, his right eye, and his right ear.
The Snatcher Project brought him back from the dead.

How could he have lost his right eye a second time? :P

To be fair, it doesn't state that he lost his eye during the fight.

Long time since this topics been touched, but hey, here we go.

Is perhaps Old Snake and his rapid ageing a reference to Snatcher and Policenauts with their slowing down of the ageing process (well, not slowing down, but being "frozen in time" as it were)? I mean, come on, it's like the direct opposite of what happens to Jonathan and Gillian, everyone else around them gets older and everyone around Old Snake seems younger...maybe this was going through Kojima's mind during the making of the game, maybe that's why there's so many Snatcher and Policenauts references in MGS4 (the most in any MGS game ever).

Just a thought.

In MGS4,
Spoiler:
at Shadow Moses, where there is this famous electrified floor, there's a Moai statue behind the first door on the left.
(Snatcher, MGS2, Gradius reference)
(I didn't notice that by myself, but by listening to the Integral Podcast)

Also, if you show your mask to Katrina in Snatcher, she'll say that she had "always liked those monster and special effects movies", I don't know if it's a coincidence but Para-medic is also a big fan of those movies.
Maybe is it just a reference to Kojima's tastes ?

I think you're missing something...

In MGS4,
Spoiler:
if you acquired/already have "Big Boss" camouflage, the head's almost similar to SNATCHER (with one open eye, but in MGS4, it's on the right) and the body's almost similar to the SNATCHER's plastic muscles.

I didn't think anyone had actually gotten "Big Boss's" Mask in MGS4, and I didn't know he had "Camo"???
It's like impossible to get (you have to be a MGS4 GOD), So I have no idea, and I've never seen what it looks like!

Can you take a photo in-game with the Camera and upload it here?
(I've messed around with that feature....it's Awesome!)

Whoa....that's AWESOME!

I'm going to go earn the "Corpse Camo" now, but then what does the "Big Boss" Camo/Mask look like?
Is there a cheat to get it? Because I find the requirements to get the "Big Boss" Camo/Mask near impossible.

The "Big Boss" mask is displayed in the pictures above.
Spoiler:
Actually, they should have called it "fake Big Boss corpse" mask.

I don't think same series references count as we'd be here all day listing the MGS ones. I think cross series references are what's wanted for the list.
