I just finished up MGSV late last week (unlocked all currently found endings) and am interested to see what everyone's feelings are on what is likely the last true game in the franchise?

Also, I am sure this topic will eventually contain some MASSIVE SPOILERS regarding some key aspects of MGSV, so please don't read through it if you intend to play MGSV in the future or have not completed the game yet.

I finished it about a week ago as well, with all found endings.

I believe the game is excellent, however the story is incomplete and sparse as we know, due to money and time. It is an incredible accomplishment, specially given the circumstances.

Due to spoilers, I won't say anything else.

Hi Artemio, I feel very similarly, the gameplay itself is arguably the best and most natural in the series but there are definitely aspects of the game which were left unintentionally incomplete. Because of this, there are a lot of aspects of the game (and how it ties into MG1 and the rest of the series) that are open to speculation. If you were interested in sectioning off an area of the forum to discuss MGSV spoilers, similar to MGS4, I know I would be interested in discussing these aspects more.

I absolutely loved it, but I feel it doesn't do a very good job of keeping the world feeling active after the ending, something Peace Walker did better. Even PW's unbalanced vehicle battles were more interesting than taking out the enemy tank unit 20 times.

Yea, I feel that the game wouldn't be as criticized as it has been by some if it lead the player more directly during important parts of the story. The ability to go off and spend time on side ops while Mother Base is in the middle of a crisis is a bit jarring. The story would have been taken better if players were given less control at key moments, allowing for proper build-ups; as opposed to important story missions randomly becoming available after a set amount of time/side ops.

Gameplay - great.
Story - pure garbage.

For the most part, I like the ideas behind the story, and a lot of individual moments are very, very strong, but it's just not tied together into a cohesive whole. There's also too many filler missions. Only about 10 or less contribute to the bigger picture of the plot.

I spoiled the ending for myself and read some parts of the story here and there. What a convoluted pile of shit this franchise has become. Venom Snake? Seriously? Stupid.
