I'm going to have to agree. Usually, if a company or individual does not want to do something a bunch of typed (not signed, typed) names won't make them do it.
For example, take this movie I made a few months ago (you can view it by going to video.google.com and searching "Student Film the Move"). It was trippy as hell and people at my school loved it so much that they wanted a sequel. Well, there were no petitions or anything, but if they did do a petition I'd still say no because a sequel to said movie wouldn't work, and, even if it did work, I've already done as much with that idea as I'd like to.
I'm sure the same thing goes for the Z.O.E. dev team.
