 JunkerHQ IRC channel
What do you guys think about having an IRC channel for Junker? Is there anyone here experienced with IRC who would like to maintain such a channel if it's created?

I think it's a great idea, and IRC is very simple to use and maintain even for people new to it. Depending on the server, owning a channel is free and very simple to register as you just have to do it right through the IRC channel, simple.
If we have the people willing to hang out there, there should be plenty to talk about. And I would like somewhere else to talk than in the TUS IRC channel, that place can be hell sometimes (although I am on another server but it's mostly full of idle people
So yes, I am up for it.
EDIT: And if you need me to, I can register the channel on whatever server you decide upon. I know the TUS Channel is on irc.Rizon.net, before that it was on irc.deltaanime.net and I've also used irc.fef.net and irc.starchat.net.

Yeah, like Arkley said, it would be a great idea. Is this your idea Osiris? Have you told Artemio yet? If this happens, it would be great news.

I asked Artemio about it, yes, and he likes the idea too.

Great idea man. I like all of you guys here, you're all very friendly enough to talk in an IRC channel, I cannot really say the same about any other place on the net.

I don't think I do, but thanks Osiris.
Yes, I believe it is a great idea, but I don't have the time to manage it.. so if as Osiris said, someone wants to help with the management, we'll be thrilled.

I don't have the experience or the time to do it either.

Never done such a thing before, I don't know very much about IRC channels at all, you do know if I knew more, I would happily take the job, right? I think Arkley seems more of the type, if he would like to take it (the management on the IRC channel)?

I like this idea, I've always preferred the personal nature of IRC. =P

I'd be willing to do it, it doesn't take much to manage an IRC channel, unless you want an automated bot.
Any server in particular?

Just before I set it up, would you guys mind having it on the same server as TUS? (rizon.net).
And a channel name, such as #Junker or #JunkerHQ or whatever else KojiPro related name?

I'll let Snatcher answer the first question, but I think we'll all agree that #JunkerHQ sounds good.

On a final note, I think we should be careful who we mention this around. I don't think any of us want hoards of newbies rampaging through from TUS.

Exactly what I was thinking, and why I asked if we should have this on the same server as TUS. Besides, if someone from #TUS were to /whois myself or Gaff, they could see that we are hanging out on #JunkerHQ. But now that I think of it, I can put the channel in secret mode.

I don't think the TUS crowd will be interested in a channel that is not purely Metal Gear, Of course the possibility exists, and also the possibility that TUS feels we want to steal away some lightning or people. Maybe in that case it would be better to be on another server.
Anyway, we basically want the people from these boards to know about it.

Well then if there are no objections, I will make a channel on irc.deltaanime.net Sound good? That was the old TUS server before it moved.
And #TUS isn't purely metal gear, hell there is hardly ever a discussion on metal gear there

Well. I've already set up the room and we already have one member who is idling there, so feel free to join. We're at #JunkerHQ on irc.deltaanime.net

Too bad I can't connect to IRC from my univ connection.
When I'm at home I'm always on IRC. It was quite a change to have to use ugly MSN to talk to some frined :S
