Post Metal gear Ac!d 2 US scans
Scans for the US version of Metal Gear Ac!d 2 are up. Unfortunately I won't be able to take screens or play the thing for a while, except for the Japanese version since it won't run in my 1.5 PSP.

The TobidAc!d is indeed quite different, and the Japanese wins hands down. I haven't used it since I have the Japanese one already opened and assembled, but I've read that the us one slips...though i understand why they made it this way. The japanese one came outside the box, in a different envelope attached to the game with the typical Japanese bag. Hence it is bigger, but makes the game bigegr for display and transport. The rest of the differences are the usual, b&w manual for the US release and no character art since they had to make the manual slimmer to fit te etobidac!d inside the case.

When my digital camera is back in my hands, I'll take pictures of both of them assembled.

Maybe you should start thinking about buying a GP2X, or a simular handheld so you can play homebrew and new PSP games? I got very sick of having to forget about games if they required firmware versions 2.1 or higher, so I updated. The idea of an official PlayStation emulator kind of persuaded me to do it, though.

Thanks for the advice, but I've developed a couple of personal utils for the PSP that simply won't be available. One to study Japanese, the other is the changes I made to fMSX and a few more little things. And a GP2X (besides, I do have a GP32) would cost me the same as a new psp... so, I'll be getting another PSP for that purpose if there are games out. It is simply that I am more attracted to development than to playing the games in the current system, and since the genesis I've always had a pick at development for every game system out, not serious, just as a hobby...

I would be more inclined to upgrade if there were games I'd like to play.. but so far oinly the DS has given me that.

Pretty well justified, really. I should have remembered you were one of the major supporters of PSP fMSX.

Bringing this topic back from the dead...

But just to tell you 87th, I bought a GP2x a month ago. and ended buying another gp2x instead of another PSP. I am loving the thingy... though I still don't havethe heart to upgrade the PSP firmware. I am developing a new app for Kanjis on the GP2x, and it is getting better by the day. Also have had some fun compiling and testing GNGeo's performance =P (not a big deal of help to the author though.. but fun for me at least)

I'll buy another psp eventually... fMSX is way better on the PSP, that 16:9 screen did work for something after all (emulator related I mean) ^^

I'm still undecided whether I'll buy another PSP or a GXP2. Battery power is the only thing that's putting me off, really.

No, I meant that you have to supply your own batteries for the GPX2, while the PSP has a rechargable one.

That is true indeed. I should say, having both, that using rechargables is not that bad... The rechargables last about 5 hours on the GP2x, and I am using just 1800mah ones... The PSP one lasts less than that. It is true that the battery on the PSP is way better and charges in a small fraction of the time AA rechargables do... But you can charge 4 or 8 at the same time, giving you a nice trade off.

I suppose I never really considered using rachargable batteries. I might order a GPX2 next month.

I see what you mean. But good rthing you never did, the alkaline batteries last between 10 minutes to an hour or so on the GP2x.. never use them =)
