Gamespot employee apparently fired for a bad review

A forum to talk about stuff that doesn't fit in other categories, such as general Kojima games discussion, other games, etc.

How does this make you feel?

I assume most sites are chained by advertisement companies as well.

You can only trust your own opinion, eh......

Well actually all signs point that this is true.

Why else would gamespot remove the review, and Edios pull all Kane & Lynch ads. Not to mention the reviewer getting fired soon after. There is even a protest on Neogaf about this.

A blog site run by a 1up editor also seems to add more merit to this rumour with the hint in his latest post. http://www.gamespite.net/verbalspew/arc ... 4.php#comm

I hope this brings attention to all the back-handing that goes in the games industry.

I rarely visit sites like GameSpot or IGN anymore. Even GameFAQs has become a tool -- look at all the questionable polls they run, probably just for market research.

Yeah, it's best to listen to independent reviews.

Hence why I head to Hardcore Gaming 101. An honest review of cult games. All of those mainstream game websites are stupid anyway, with their top 100 lists that are full of shit.

Oh, I also often frequent Game Revolution. I don't think anyone has much influence over it.

I only head to GFAQ's for codes, but 99% of the forum dwellers there are total retards. Oh well...we need a reliable game site with codes for all games, but without all the corporate bullshit. That'll be the day...
Life and Death hang in perfect balance...I'm only here to tip the scales.

I read through some of the gamefaqs user reviews. Its the only place where you can go to see the "real" scores for games like Halo etc... ;)

That Jeff Gerstmann got fired sucks!

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a shit game. I played my buddy's rented copy and it sucks shit.

Gerstmann told the truth on what an ass title it was and he got fired... No justice it seems.

I mainly go to http://www.gametrailers.com/reviews.php to see video reviews of what is coming up and what is worth getting.

GT as least has about a 5 min video review per game and tells why they like or hate a title in detail. It still can be biased but it gives more insight into the title and if I'll like it or not.

Fuck Eidos! When was the last time they put out a great new title? Stupid assholes.
