Post Blade Runner's influence on videogames
I just found a link to this on Kotaku, and thought I'd post it for discussion here.

While the article doesn't speak too deeply about the film's cultural footprint for too long, it serves well for the type of fan who actively seeks out Blade Runner-style games (I've seen topics about such subjects here in the past). The article runs through a selection of games, and notes the influence that Blade Runner has had on them. Some games are quite obvious (Snatcher, Blade Runner for the PC, etc.) while a couple aren't so much (Final Fantasy VII, Flashback).
A few of the games on the list are bound to be favourites of the forum (Flashback is probably the best European game I've played), so I expect people will like reading about how they're influenced by one of their favourite films.

I can't believe they didn't mention Deus Ex.

Mind you, I liked this particular passage:

Quote:
And let's not even dwell on Cloud's head-clutching angst over whether or not he might be a clone. Deckard could shrug and get on with life without another movie's worth of cut-scene.

I was kind of surprised that they didn't include Syndicate or Syndicate Wars, personally.
