Kojima games?
Kojima games?
OK, so am I right in saying that legitimetely Kojima only CREATED 8 games? I'm not talking about expanded editions like Integral or Substance. I'm talking about legitimate games that he wrote and directed.
Metal Gear
Snatcher
Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake
Policenauts
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the <B>Patriots</B>
I know he contributed to many others, but I think those are the only Kojima games. Is that right?

Re: Kojima games?
I think you may be placing too much importance on how he's credited. There's every chance that Kojima had more influence on SD Snatcher than he did on MGS4 (due to the size of the teams). I'd assume that Kojima comes up with ideas and is listened to on every title he works on. Though he only worked as a producer in Boktai, I believe Kojima came up with the concept. It's not a typical thing to credit someone for that, though.
Re: Kojima games?
True, but those are the 8 games he is credited for as the creator and director.

Re: Kojima games?
What about MPO and.. well maybe not the Acid series.
Re: Kojima games?
Kojima did not direct MPO. Ghost Babel, Acid 1, Acid 2, MGS Mobile, MPO, MPO+... they are not Kojima games. He wrote the plot for Ghost Babel and MPO, but did not direct them. Check my site about the production of both of those games.

Re: Kojima games?
Actually, he never wrote MPO or Ghost Babel. Gakuto Mikumo, a Japanese novelist (http://www.kjp.konami.jp/gs/hideoblog_e ... 00046.html) wrote MPO's storyline and Tomokazu Fukushima was Ghost Babel's writer (who wrote every MGS title through to MGS3).
Kojima only nodded his head to both storylines. The reason for this was that Kojima was all ready too busy with MGS4 to have any proper involvement with MPO, as it was a sort of side project for KP. Same goes for Ghost Babel, it was being made at the exact same time as MGS2 was, again, Kojima and the core members of KP were too busy on that project, so again, Ghost Babel was a side project.
Which gets me thinking...whatever happened to Shinta Nojiri and Tomokazu Fukushima?

Re: Kojima games?
I'm not seeing it on that blog. Where does it say that?
In any case, Kojima still came up with the story. You are right about him not actually writing out the script and all, but I meant more in terms of actually creating the plot. Which Kojima did:

He is the original planner and came up with the plot.

Oh, you were there then when it happened? Get real! Ghost Babel and MPO had direct connections to the Metal Gear canon. I find it hard to believe that it was a simple "nod". Acid, yes, I can believe that (and it shows). But MPO and GB were originally conceived by Kojima, hence he's the supervising director on both. See, you can always tell when Kojima had NOTHING to do with a MG game. Games like that always list him as a producer and the lack of quality really shows.Kojima only nodded his head to both storylines.

Re: Kojima games?
Dude, chill. I didn't mean that Kojima just agreed to the end product and played no part in the entire process, I meant he didn't take as much of an active role as I thought you made him sound, that's all. All I really meant that Kojima didn't play a real part in was the writing of the actual script, since he didn't list himself in there, so I apologise for not making myself clear cut about it. I do realise he had a hand in the concept with the games and all that, having read up on it, since Metal Gear is his property so to speak. I thought you were saying Kojima wrote everything for MPO and Ghost Babel, or something. It was just bad communication on both of our parts, sorry for offending you pal. I didn't mean to come across as a pretentious prick who knew more than you did or anything, I just thought you meant something else entirely. My bad.
Re: Kojima games?
Offending? You didn't offend me. I just thought it was funny the way you made your original post, sounding like you were there to see it happen.
