TGS 2k8

Post by Solidé »

Okay, This years TGS is soon over, and it's time to figure out what did we Fans of many Kojima games get from there.

FUCKING NOTHING!!

Yeah right, again... i was expecting KojiPro to release new information about MGS Existence or MGS4 Subsomething. But mostly i was waiting to get news about Project S. But yeah, as you can expect, nothing revealed... Not even a single word any of those titles. I am truly disappointed.

Oh but instead all of those above, we get Solid Snake Sackboy for LittleBigPlanet. Yeah that's right. Fucking downloadable character for a game which whole idea is to create something by yourself! Damn...

I'm okay with no Project 'S', yet. They're working on it, and a long development time only suggests they're taking care with it. I was chuffed enough with the announcement of No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle to ignore any disappointment.

Yeah, TGS was pretty good this time around, a vast improvement of the terribly tepid E3 of this year. I didn't expect anything other than more stuff on the expandable MGO. No More Heroes 2, Fatal Frame, the untitled horror project with Q Entertainment and EA Games, the port of the two Silver Case titles and Kurayami means I'm doubting Project 'S' will come anytime soon, seems to me like Suda 51 has his hands full.

It was a good TGS even though there wasn't much stuff for MGS :) The biggest surprise this year was the announcement about Tekken 6 coming to the 360!
Sony's losing exclusives left,right & centre

Yeah there won't be too many more PS3 exclusives. Not with such a large 360 installed user base. Getting that 1 year jump on the competition really worked.

I almost couldn't play my 360 less though. I only use it to watch DVDs. I only own Halo 3 and Gears of War for it though. Anything else I'll either play on PS3 or I just won't buy at all. Same with Wii. The novelty of waving my controller around when I want to relax and play a game is dead. The Sony system was never my fav system for a generation of consoles until the PS3.

But really, after Final Fantasy 13 was announced to be on 360 there's no way I could be surprised if anything else was announced for it. Except like Zelda or Mario of course :)

RE5 continues to impress, and seeing Wesker in physical combat with Chris reminds me of the first trailer we saw Ocelot giving Snake the beatdown. Not that the games/stories are at all similiar, just how epic the moment is when they're both finally in phsyical contact with each other.

NOTE: This is not my material, this comes from the Streets of Rage Remake forum, from a member, VampX
Meh plot twist for Resident Evil 8 the search for Jill Valentine who was kidnapped by the secret northpole branch of Umbrella
because she was the only one with remnants of the B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T. virus in her blood which she retro-actively got in an unseen scene from RE1.
so now the secret southpole branch is trying to use her blood to create a new version of the super-evil-turbo tyrant that was seen in yet another unseen RE3 cutscene.
so then you go to the westpole to save Jill while fighting evil eastpole super snow soldiers. their called super snowldiers thankyouverymuch!

Whats that Capcom? a job? all the Streetfighter i can handle? a doorsized poster of Cammy showing off her thongbackside?
a phoenix wright courtroom playset with action figures?
oh i'm in! fuck you guys i'm going to Japan!
Life and Death hang in perfect balance...I'm only here to tip the scales.

Well, at least the answer to every question in Resident Evil isn't "nanomachines".

I like where they're taking the storyline of RE5, and there was me thinking it was going to be another RE4 - style and no substance. I'm not going to lie, RE has a rather bad story with tons of retcons and underdeveloped characters, cheesy writing, but I still think RE2 had a good storyline, in my opinion. RE2 (for the story and atmosphere) and RE4 (some of the best gameplay ever in an action adventure title) are the apex of the series for very different reasons, and this looks like a good mixture of those two titles. Will we finally get a RE title that has both great gameplay and story. Hope so. :)

Really? I'm actually more inclined to play it now. Seriously. I'm not into playing anything that doesn't have a story to go with as it seems almost pointless. Except for fighting games of course.

Don't think about it as an epic storyline with telling style such as an AAA game/movie/book. Think about the story mode as something similar of Super Mario series, in terms to go around different world with themed levels each one created by the developers. Add that Along with all the upcoming user-created content

Here's the intro of the game, must be the most original one I have ever seen on this gen.
