Hardcore Gaming 101 "Top Secret Konami files"

Hardcore Gaming 101 just did an interview with a freelance translator who worked at Konami at one point and had never been interviewed up until now.

The interview has not been posted yet but the translator gave Hardcore Gaming 101 a pack of never released translation files with the complete scripts for a ton of games. Hardcore Gaming 101 has already released a small pack of manuals and the entire script for Hybrid Heaven, prior to its being edited for use in-game. Hardcore Gaming 101 plans to release the rest after periodical updates in the coming few weeks and I quote
“Our second and third releases will be the entire script – every single line of script in fact – for a pair of text-heavy games already covered on the site (can you guess which two?).”
Snatcher and Policenauts?

Other quotes from the article
“The final release will be for two games which aren’t yet covered by the site, but trust me when I say they will be MEGATON releases, and something to get both romhackers and fans in general extremely excited
Let’s just say after reading this you will never look at Konami or indeed the videogame industry in the same way again”
“The pillars of heaven will shake. Some bits are so hot we’re not even sure if we can legally publish it – but we’re going to anyway.”

The hype is a bit much...almost far too much as no game script release etc. could possibly be that worthy lol!

Unless of course someone mangaed to get their hands on Hideo Kojima's original script for Snatcher...
The version that he mentioned had like 6 Acts! (but got cut down by Konami to only 2 for the release).

I pretty much know who this person is and which games they will cover, just from things I know and details they mentioned in that article.

Probably the most interesting stuff for people here will be the MGS2 and Ghost Babel bits (assuredly the "MEGATON" releases).

The two text-heavy games already covered on the site that I believe they are referring to are Shadow of Destiny/Memories and Azure Dreams.

Kurt from HG101 has made it clear that this covers only official releases, so no Policenauts.

The Azure Dreams part was correct. It was the GBC version.

Hey, if it's the script for MGS2 before it was altered for 9/11 that would be very cool.

I imagine it will be a ton of behind the scenes stuff on MGS2 and Ghost Babel. Probably moreso MGS2. I also imagine that yes, the pre-9/11 version will be detailed to some degree. This person would have had access to that script, naturally. And Kojima said it wasn't just Arsenal Gear crashing into Manhattan that was cut. Apparently, numerous lines of dialogue were affected.

Is it...
Spoiler:
Agness S. Kaku, the translator of Sons of Liberty & Ghost Bable?
If the next file is indeed MGS2, I'll dowload it in a heartbeat.

Oh man, I can't wait to see what it is!

Ignoring the spambot above me, on part 4 of the blog, the link was "removed".

Was that intentional?

Beat you to the punch :)
There's a 7z file in the zip that you have to extract with 7zip.

No you didn't. :P

I sent them to SnatcherMkII in a PM yesterday.
I didn't give out the link because I didn't know what Artemio would think about me posting things Konami ordered to be taken down from HG101 on Junker HQ.
It could get us into trouble.

Keep it. Some lurker might want it one day.
(But I guess I rendered it useless by posting those links. Oh well...)

I've since put a series of new interviews up. Perhaps the topic title should be changed to reflect this?

The first was Agness Kaku, the rest are now up as well, finishing with Toshinari Oka of MG2:SS. There aren't any more to be added (I had one with a guy from Thief, for a dedicated Thief article, and one from John Kroknes on Headhunter, but I'm also saving that for a Headhunter feature). In case you're wondering, I took the MG2 artwork from the JunkerHQ forums! :)

In truth, they're the unedited originals of interviews I conducted for GamesTM magazine. Though the bastards didn't credit my name on it, and they fucked up a quotation during the editing process (attributing Ryan Payton to David Hayter). Thankfully, after having put with their crap for years, I won't be writing for them any more.

Damn fine read. Good job!

Now if only we could get some info on Masahiro Ikariko.
He's worked on a ton of games but no one knows anything about him.
