Surely more a reference to Robin Hood and Little John? Crossbows and forests and all that... Just the first thing that came into my mind.

Yeah, that's what I figured, too. Just the fact that Little John used a bow and not a bow gun that made me wonder.

Oh yeah, but minor things like that don't stop Kojima drawing his crazy allusions to different things. I can just imagine him making the connection and scribbling it down. Nutter.

I suppose the reason he named him Little John in Snatcher was because he's Gibson's sidekick. Any other reason(s)?

Here's another reference.
In Policenauts, there's a green-eyed Snatcher target in Target Mode in the Shooting Range. The music also changes to an exclusive (not the one from the 32-bit versions) remix of Pressure of Tension in this case. Then when the round is over, the target makes a short-circuit noise.

I even managed to add a reference from a game that hasn't even been shown to the public yet! (MGS:DGN2) Try to beat that.

Cool, they finally got that in there. Do you say that because it's in the comic?

Yes. They also use the image of Karen in the inside cover of the first issue of the comic, so I'd be very surprised if they cut that part out for the "game" (especially since I didn't notice any cuts in DGN).

God damn, that is so ugly! She almost looks like Geraldo Rivera in that second picture. Tomiharu Kinoshita would be turning over in his grave if he was dead.
Thanks a lot for the scan. If no one had it, I would've bought the thing only to find that waiting for me. For people who don't know, here's how she's supposed to look.

Good spot Rick, you're right. Karen's meant to be hot, not a freaky gothic-doll looking thing. They missed the point there, for sure.

I don't know. She look kind of cute to me. Although she isn't as hot as she is in Policenauts.

Look Osiris! I've said things I didn't mean before. They are listed below.
1. When I said I was going to dub Policenauts, I had no intention of doing so.
2. When I said Ridley Scott was a bad director, I was just trying to get you all pissed.
3. When I said I hated Seven Samurai, I was lying. (I've never seen it.)
4. When I said I hated Ichi The Killer, I was lying. (Again, I didn't see it. I was too much of a wimp.)
5. When I said I hated the Blade Runner Director’s Cut, I was lying. (I consider it inferior to the original theatrical release but I don't hate it.)
6. I don't think the comic book Karen is hot. (I'm not that desperate.)
I know I was EXTREEMLY annoying. I was just showing off. I’m sorry.
Edit:
The first one was a joke entry. I did want to dub the game at first but eventually the project fell through the cracks and was abandoned do to more important matters.

I bet he did not even know how Karen looked like orginally. He was either asked to make the referance or just added it in after reading reading the translations of the orginal script provided to him.

Well, judging by how I heard Kojima reacted to the original MGS comic, I doubt he would have helped. Apparently, he was a fan of Ashley Wood, and he was happy to see him adapting the game to comic form, but felt the early work on the comic was too close to the game, and wanted to see an original interpretation of the story. This is why there's many changes later on (Mantis taunting Fox, Liquid mentioning the Patriots).
I think Wood would have bought a copy of The Document for research on the game (and the 3D character models would have helped his illustrations, too). He probably picked up the name from that.
