There's a trailer for the PC-98, 3DO, and Saturn versions.

Oops, my mistake. I thought the trailers were already translated and uploaded to pn.net :P
Oh well, hope to see it announced on the newsletter once they're released ;)

They are already translated, but we're waiting until next week because that's when Artemio will have the time off to subtitle them.

One more important thing; what mouse works with Policenauts for your PC? Just the PSX one I am guessing, what do you have to do to set that up?

You can use your regular PC mouse under ePSXe. Just enable the mouse under the controls tab (I can't remember if pSX has mouse support, though).

Remember to hit F5 once you're in the game to enable the mouse.

Any news on the trailers? Figured they'd be out by now, but...

Localization, not translation.

It is a title screen.

Artemio was really busy last week, so he hasn't gotten around to them yet. They should be up sometime soon.

  I've been waiting for an english translation of Policenauts and still am. It tortures me to even think about it because i'm still sadly waiting. It kills me every time I get myself to play policenauts. I hear and know it is a great game, but I quit playing too soon because I'm just not japanese enough to understand what the heck the characters are saying. :x :x :x :x :x :x

It was pretty enjoyable with a walkthrough, but you definitely might as well wait now that the translation patch should be done within the year it sounds like.

I also am looking forward to the translation patch. I loved snatcher and am expecting the same form of entertainment in this. I love the art used. But im not in a hurry after all translating this game takes alot of time and effort.

Here are scans of an interview I did for Issue 57 of GamesTM (http://www.gamestm.co.uk), a UK videogame magazine, which includes the first English screenshots. We'll be adding these screenshots to Policenauts.net sometime soon.

Some parts of the interview had to be cut for space, so I'll see if it's okay with the magazine if I post those here. One of them was where I mention how great it's been to be able to work with all the talented people we have on board, and how the project has always felt like Artemio's to me. It may seem like I'm trying to grab all the attention, but that isn't my intention at all (after all, our programmer doesn't even want to be named right now).

Were you guys going to put a disclaimer in the game about the changes, where they'd make sense? (like the thing with the Mir space station?)

You mean directly in the game? Or on the website? We couldn't really put them right in the game, as there'd be nowhere to put them. We'll probably post them on the website, though.

Well it'd be like they use on law and order (dun-DUN) ... and the 'this story is fiction' line. but yeah you should say something on the website about it. :P (if you really have no place to put it in-game, that is.)

So you mean like what appears at the beginning of Snatcher? I thought you meant annotate each one in the game. Well, the original game doesn't have one, so I don't see the need to add one. But we can list any changes on the website. As I mentioned in the interview, they're minor details, though. There's the fact that Pluto isn't classified as a planet anymore. There's also the Mars '96 mission, which crashed after take-off. I changed that to the Mars Pathfinder mission, which was also launched in 1996 and actually made it to Mars. Then there are others related to rockets and space probes, etc. I also changed the date of the Snatcher reference to 2047 (from 2042), so it would make sense for people who've played the English Snatcher.

Ah that's right... it's been a while since I've played Snatcher, and even that was the SEGA CD version. It's not a big deal anyway... I was just wondering how those changes would be addressed.
