Helluva lot of guests lately.
I guess word got out...I usually see one or two, but right now there's ten...seriously, just join the site...we're (almost) all awesome.
Life and Death hang in perfect balance...I'm only here to tip the scales.

Probably as a result of all the attention recent news on the progress of the Policenauts translation's been receiving. It even hit mainstream gaming sites:

I signed up just because I saw that post. I hope you're happy. Since I am a major Hideo Kojima fan I should have fun here though, huh. 8D -joy-seraphssavior wrote:I guess word got out...I usually see one or two, but right now there's ten...seriously, just join the site...we're (almost) all awesome.

Re: Helluva lot of guests lately.
I joined because of a post like it, not sure which. I finished Metal Gear Solid 4 for the fifth time and I was replaying act 3, and after feeling like I had squeezed the life out of my favorite franchise, I couldn't keep playing it, but playing anything "lesser" wasn't good enough for me.. So I was pondering over what to do, when I thought "Wait, wasn't act 3 suppose to be a reference to Snatcher, wonder what that's like?" So I looked it up, after beating it, I just HAD to find Policenauts... but I knew it was in Japanese so I looked for a translation and found you guys.
Not only did I find a future translation, but a future patch, AND a great community, I was really moved by the dedication and fandom here.
It's quaint, but loyal and awesome.

Re: Helluva lot of guests lately.
The main thing I liked about this forum is that compared to the GameFaqs forum, the following almost never occurs:
1.) Automatic dismissal / automatic flame response for correctly pointing out the many flaws of Twin Snakes and/or MGS4
2.) average intelligence is well... higher.
3.) Isn't as frantic as the unoffical site forums, and has a more relaxing color scheme & layout.
4.) Is more for Konami / Kojima enthusiasts, so topics never get boring and focus on more than just MGS.
5.) More quiet, but not dead. Hard to do nowadays, when typically it ends up being either or for forums.

Seriously. I love listening to the music of Plato's cavern when I surf these boards, it led me to use the employee there as an avatar. I love the atmosphere, a friendly kind of inviting, but with lots of knowledge.. and yet at the same time, it doesn't NEED the knowledge... If you get what I'm saying. You don't necessarily need to have something good to say, and you don't have to beat the other person with a stick to voice your opinion.
I won't lie. I'm going to be active on here. I like this place and there's a lot of good topics. I.. LOL, resurrected an old topic today already, and didn't have a clue I was doing it. Probably won't be the last time either. And that's saying something, because I've never done that before. It's just after reading the replies I was so into the topic, I had a reply ready in seconds.

Yeah I love this place! =D>
I think I found JHQ about 6 years ago now?
I've been sorta spreading the word of "Junker HQ.net" as a great place for kojima/snatcher fans and info.
Most of the people I've met are interested in playing my "Snatcher" MOD, but have never played the game before....some are even kojima fans that don't know his other works, and some are fans that just didn't know there was a great site like this around. I get about 100 people a day on MODDB scoping the MOD...so i plugged the JHQ site on my MOD profile.
Hopefully more of us like-minded people show up, and not the flamers and all that...

Re: Helluva lot of guests lately.
Yeah.
I was an administrator on a set of forums a long time ago, and I know how hard it is to interest people in joining. We all develop little niches and places we frequent.
But I've grown to love Snatcher so much I'll look at just about anyone (gamers anyway) and say "Ever heard of Snatcher?" "No." "Then why aren't you playing it then? Like seriously!" LOL. Game's probably not for everyone, but still...
