Full European MGS3 extras list revealed-
Konami just sent an email to the official UK PlayStation 2 wesbite, detailing all the PAL exclusives in MGS3. The email can be read here-
http://en.forums.playstation.com/4/Open ... cale=en_GB
Basically, it's everything that was mentioned before (which was already included in SOL) plus exclusive Camo designs, and 2 new Snake vs Monkey levels. Oh well, I suppose I should be glad (although I would've much prefered another Making Of DVD).

Sounds like the Demo Theatre will be like in MGS1. I was hoping we'd be able to choose what parts to watch.
Duel Mode and Euro Extreme sounds nice but i've already played this game to death. I won't be buying the PAL version for this. Hopefully a Substance version of the game will be released with all these extras and a crapload of Alternate Missions, like in MGS2.

What a shame it wasn't worth for you.. I felt it was every ounce a Kojima game as I hoped and even more so.ReasonWhyNot wrote:If the main game wasn't even worth the wait, what makes them think any of that shit will be?
I hope you do find what you look for in some other game though, but for me and most of the Kojima fans I know it was simply a work of Konami and Kojima's best.

I can see that, but I subscribe to the Tim Rogers school of thinking for that, and that is that Kojima put those elements in simply to make people think about what they're doing, and forcing players into sneaking so they don't end up having to cure themselves, which is a pain in the ass. I would say the game can be completed by always wearing the Snake camouflage, which is why I believe it is there - it announces itself as "the ultimate cover", but it's not exactly magic. This is because it's to be worn all the time, to help reduce the number of times you need to access the Survival Viewer (a uniform that provides decent cover in all environments... sneaking suit anyone?).ReasonWhyNot wrote:The curing, camouflage, eating, and backpack were all a pain in the ass to manage.
As for the characterisation of the enemies, I think Kojma wisely sacrificed characterisation of the bosses for heavier emphasis on The Boss, EVA, and Ocelot. The game was never about fighting the Cobras to me, it was always leading up to the showdown with The Boss, which is why I don't complain about the battle with Voglin/Shagohod - that was never the zenith for me, it was always leading to The Boss.
Shame you didn't enjoy it really.

I found that playing the japanese version a better experience because it feels a bit more polished with precise lip sync. Even if you're not fluent in the japanese language you can tell that the voice directing is top notch. My wife was in the same room with me when I was finishing up the japanese version of MGS3 and she thought the voice acting was alot better in japanese.Of course, I might've preferred it even more if the voice acting didn't blow.

I don't doubt that the Japanese voice acting is better than the English VO's. I only doubt that they would the game better.Omega579 wrote:I found that playing the japanese version a better experience because it feels a bit more polished with precise lip sync. Sure are better, for a start Volgin's voice is gone. Other than that I didn't have any beef with the English version. But the lip synching is indeed spot on in the Japanese version (and one website review cited the lip [out of] synching as a bad point - the ignorance there astounded me, they clearly had no perception that the Japanese version would be right on).
