Kojima his pen, and I
I met Kojima at a signing on March 9th in the UK. I got my SCC Memorial special Junker keychain card backing signed by the man himself, and my manual of my MCD copy of Snatcher... I wanted my Saturn, CDRomantic, Zoom Tracks, Battle CD etc... plus my Policenauts stuff signed as well. Only one item per person though!!! (I had someone with me for the 2 signatures).
The crazy thing was - noone there that I spoke to even knew Snatcher or Policenauts existed! Sure fundimentally it was a MGS3 signing - but still.
Anyways... I'm looking to pick up some Snatcher goodies from anyone on here. My previous items have been bought in Japan, so I know how much most of the stuff is when bought from the source. I'm looking to expand my collection, and even though buying online is never as fun as discovering a rare item in a tiny Japanese store, it may be a good way to find a few rarities.
Let me know.

When Shinkawa-san came out I said "there's Shinakawa" and someone near me said "who's that?"The crazy thing was - noone there that I spoke to even knew Snatcher or Policenauts existed! Sure fundimentally it was a MGS3 signing - but still.
As you said, sure it was an MGS3 thing, but still...
"But nothing is permanent... only change"
That is pretty silly, even a fan of MGS should know that, though perhaps alot of people there were simply there for the crack, but still, Shinkawa is basically next to Kojima in the making of the game from a fans point of view in my opinionWhen Shinkawa-san came out I said "there's Shinakawa" and someone near me said "who's that?"

Was he surprised when you showed him the SCC Junker Keychain card? (BTW, do you have that damned keychain? I've only seen it in a single picture...)
When I took the MSX2 game he was really surpised.. he commenetd something along the lines of "these are rare even for Japan..." (Scott Dolph's translation, I shall watch that video again to see what I can understand bty myself now...)
I still regert not taking a Policenauts item though... ALthough I did in the backpack, I'd rather have a signed Polcienauts than the MGS2: Solid Snake game...
I am glad you took Snatcehr items for that reason pal, great to know that, congratulations

Hey Snatch... Indeed I have the JUNKER keychain - god knows what Kojima thought when he saw it still in the plastic pouch! His look was one of surpise and gladness - but also a little bit to convey 'you cheeky boy!' as it was a MGS signing after all.
When abouts did you meet him? And are you the guy who runs this site??? Forgive my ignorance, I'm new round these parts of kobe.
Also, when I posted on another forum that I was surprised about the lack of Kojima knowledge from the people I met, I got shot down! claiming that I thought I was better than them...!

Great to hear from someone taht has it! If you could scan/take a picture of it, it would be great since it is one of the few items missing in my colelction, and hence in the Snatcher page.
I met him at Tokyo. At Konami's Omni Buil....Ropongi Hills. The press office, for an interview regarding MGS3 for a TV program related to the Mag I sometimes write for, Atomix.
And yes, I am the guy that runs the site... "... mod II! At your service..."

I posted a reply in the other signing topic, but thought I'd post here too.
Congrats on being able to make it, you lucky cad!
Also, good to know someone there was a big Snatcher/Policenauts fan, I hope you were educating the ingorant masses on the error of their ways Mr Seed. Were people surprised when they discovered the other games he's worked on? More importantly, did you convert anyone into going out and checking out those things?
Also, it was you over at NTSC-uk right?
I saw them getting very critical of Kojima fans, which is why I've given up posting there, too many grumpy casual gamers who just like to criticise.
Nice photo too!
Did anyone queue overnight for 24 hours?

Think the first guys got there about 9 or 10am, and it was due to start at 5. I got there at 12 and there were about 10 people infront.
Thank God for the rain to wash the trash off the sidewalk...

I think the first guys were there just before 8... I got there at 10ish after leaving at 3.30am to take the 5 hour bus ride to London.
Yes Otaku, I was surprised that no-one I spoke to were aware of Snatcher. I don't by any means claim to be Kojima's greatest fan (in actual fact, although I've played MGS, and own a few versions of the franchise it would come as a shock to many Kojima fans that I think the series is quite overrated - just my opinion) - But I thought that Snatcher and Pnauts would be reasonable common knowledge considering the SnatchMCD version actually came out in this country, and there are various sites online.
PLUS - this was quite amusing...there was a magazine on the shelf right next to us in HMV that was titled with something like 'Games that changed the world'... within these pages was a feature on MG and MGS and therefore a little on Kojima himself with a whole page dedicated to Snatcher (with a big pic of Napoleon in Alton Plaza)... despite this I saw at least two people there, glance over the page... So when people have said that I'm elitist because I found it surprising that no-one had heard of it is an unfounded mistake. I'm glad that there are forums like this were people don't get offended because they feel they are lacking in some fundemental knowledge that is far from folklaw.
Dispite the fact that no-one knew about Snatcher, a few seemed mesmorised by a selection of my (reasonably small) collection...what was that all about?
In a way I'm glad, If everyone knew about Snatcher, much like MGS I feel it would lose some of it's cult status and become mainstream and therefore somewhat trivialised, it's a gem that only those who 'know' will discover.
