THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Post by fei121 »

Just want to say thanks for all the hard work on translating this game. I have been wanting to play this game ever since i read a article about it back in 98. Thanks so much, I was in Akihabara last week and picked up every version of policenauts well except for the pc98 version way to much money :P the guy at the store asked why all the policenauts games I told him it was being translated and to checkout policenauts.net. Again thanks you guys rock and i cant wait for the release

Ha, I bet the guy was indeed surprised. Had he played the game himself?

Thank you for the kind words. We can't wait either.

Shoulda bought the PC-98 version if you could have afforded it. It would have made a dandy collector's item.

Yea the guy was more surprised that people in America wanted to play this game and that it was being translated he is a fan of the game. It was kinda hard for me to hear what he was saying my girlfriend had to translate what he was saying but he said he would play the translated version. They did have the PC-98 version there in a glass case but it was way to much money but I wish I had.

I can't say I fully understand that sentence, but at least word is getting out about the work you guys are doing here.

EDIT: I understand now.

Sure, mainstream games are fun, but you haven't tried Snatcher yet.

It's because he was buying every version of the game available at the store (except the PC98), and the clerk asked him why he was buying all of them.

I'm amazed by all the non-Japan residents that are interested in the game. I suppose it's expected with Kojima's following, but since both Snatcher and Policenauts are so obscure, it's amazing people have taken notice. Either way, it's great to have our mini-community of quality game enthusiasts.

Haha Sorry about the confusing sentence I wrote that at 4:00 AM. I only got a quick look at the PC-98 version it was in a glass case. I believe it was around 200$ but I was on my way out when I saw it my girlfriend was tired of being in a store for a few hours.

$200? That's like $90 more than the amount of money that version usually goes for on Yahoo's Japanese auctions.

BTW, I'm planning on traveling to Tokyo sometime next spring. If I get lucky, I might purchase the PC-98 version of Policenauts, and maybe some other imported video game goodies, as well.

Just tell me one thing about Akihabara: Is it the ultimate Tokyo video game shopping center for video games old and new or something?

I found a load of PC-88 and 98 games in A-Too in Osaka (I had to visit the hentai floor to find them though, embarrassingly enough). Couldn't find Policenauts or Snatcher there, though.

Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes they put the hentai floor between the ground level and the games level too.

Oh, that wouldn't have been quite so bad. In this case, there was a wall of old PC games on the Hentai floor. Worst of all, the ポ/Po section (as in ポリスノーツ/Policenauts) was very near a very wet man staring at a picture of a topless pre-teen girl with a highly suspect white liquid over her nipples. :(

Ha, damn. I remember there's this one store I passed by in the main street in Akihabara where the ground floor is just pink everything (I think you know what) as far as you can see. It's really open too, allowing you to see in perfectly. It was just swarming with guys looking at the material. I thought to myself, I wonder what tourists must think when they see that...

Hi guys. I just registered to say "thanks" as well: thanks for all the work you're doing in translating and patching this game! I think it's a really great thing you're doing, to make this missing link in Kojima's work available to the English-speaking audience. I'm really looking forward to the patch release (have my import PSX copy right here!) Keep up the good work!

Just wanted to say thank you!!! I've had this game for the better part of ten years now (on saturn) and never let myself play it until I could understand it. I tried to learn japanese, time and time again (not enough free time on my hands) but it looks like this translation beat me to the punch. THANK YOU!! It's awesome! Played for like 4-5 hours last night and cant find a hiccup yet.

I agree totally, I have played for about 5 hours total and its perfect, the humor is captured unlike a lot of translations. This is nothing short of amazing, thank you for all your hard work and making dreams come true and such.
