For those that only played the fan-translated version of Metal Gear 2 and not the original raw game, Frank Hunter was the alias used by Gray Fox when he met Natasha in Calgary. Hunter of course, is the English translation of the German word Jaeger (which is Fox's actual surname). Which is why his sister in Metal Gear Solid is called Naomi Hunter.
I've seen the character descriptions for the Mobile Phone port of Metal Gear 2 and they used the name of "Frank Jaeger" on Natasha's profile (who is now called Gustava in the new version). At first, I though this was a retroactive change made in the new version (much like how they changed the characters' names), but then I saw a transcripts of the descriptions they used in the original MSX version and the name "Frank Jaeger" also appears on Natasha's original profile. I should've known, considering the Mobile Phone descriptions still mentions that Big Boss lost his eye during the 80s.
First of all, how can anyone be sloppy enough to make a mistake like this? If Natasha supposed to know Fox as Frank Hunter, then why is he listed as Jaeger in the manual? It makes the revelation in the end of the game even more obvious than it needs to be for those that paid attention to the manual. No wonder the translation team was left confused. I personally believe the whole Jaeger/Hunter nonsense is abit unneeded.
Does anyone knows if Fox still uses the Frank Hunter alias in the Mobile Phone remake?

Correctamoondo, the guide's are somewhat identical in biographical "sub" info to say slightly.Johnny Undaunted wrote:I should've known, considering the Mobile Phone descriptions still mentions that Big Boss lost his eye during the 80s.
Beyond relevance, or recognition, the world is just full of what Dr. Cosby calls: "The brain damage people."Johnny Undaunted wrote:First of all, how can anyone be sloppy enough to make a mistake like this? ?
As I have read from others, there hasn't been any case of this classic mistake to be made twice. BUT, I've heard also from numerous people though that many blurbs and glitches from the original msx2 version of the game have been found evident (judging that when they ported this, they did a sloppy job, without looking at things and just changing the radio screen graphics and selective menu screens) . So in this case, I strongly believe unguided disorder dictates repentance.Johnny Undaunted wrote:Does anyone knows if Fox still uses the Frank Hunter alias in the Mobile Phone remake?
But then again, judging from what peaks the series has reached, I stronly believe also that this was well learned mistake (even though I didnt think much of it.)
