 Next project
///////// EDIT The only project we're associated with currently is the Saturn patch for Policenauts. http://forums.junkerhq.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3010///////// Hey everyone, I thought you might like to know what we're going to be working on after Policenauts! Artemio, slowbeef, and I have joined Dave Shadoff's project to translate Dead of the Brain 1 & 2 for the PC Engine. These games can be described as adventure games with zombies. I've completed both of them and I can tell you they are worth the effort. If you like Snatcher or Policenauts, I'm sure you'll enjoy them too. Stay tuned.... P.S. You may want to avoid the DOTB2 video that's on YouTube. The game's intro has a big spoiler in it.

 Re: Our next project
Great news, the game did catch my interest a few years ago, when someone posted some screenshots on here.
I promise, I'll spend a few seconds every day from now on, thinking about you and all the hard work you're doing for moral support.

 Re: Our next project
I should add that Dave and his associates have been working on it for a while, so hopefully it shouldn't take that much time to get done. Probably the biggest step to be completed is the English translation.
Here's a screenshot from the French translation.

Also in the French version all the zombies smoke and eat stale croissants.

 Re: Next project
Oh shit! This the game I found all those years ago! I even requested that you translate the game one day...and here we are three years later. http://forums.junkerhq.net/viewtopic.php?p=16889#p16889Thanks so much, guys. Around that time Marc, you found the engrish title and opening sequence funny. Must have been good enough for this project to happen![/gloat] Tell me, how is the plot for this one? Is it like a B grade-movie and funny, or is it supposed to be serious or a mixture of both humour and serious like Snatcher/Policenauts?

I really liked both of these games. It's wonderful to see they're getting some attention.

 Re: Next project
Whoa, I've been keeping an eye out to see who would do an English translation. Didn't expect it to be you guys, especially after a mammoth project like Policenauts.
Good luck!

 Re: Next project
Marc (or anyone else), with the exception of the voice acting, would you happen to know if there are any significant differences between the PC98(or MSX, X68) and PC-Engine versions?

 Re: Next project
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to work on the translations of these games due to a lack of time. Dave and slowbeef will be continuing without me, with Dave translating, and I wish them the best. Trickless wrote: Marc (or anyone else), with the exception of the voice acting, would you happen to know if there are any significant differences between the PC98(or MSX, X68) and PC-Engine versions? Yeah, the graphics, music, and graphic content vary from version to version. The PC98 and X68 have the sharpest visuals, while the PCE version has the best music (in my opinion, anyway). The PCE version is still as graphic gore-wise, but several shots of women's nipples have been removed. The MSX version looks terrific for an MSX game. It's very similar to the PC98 and X68 versions, but its visuals aren't as crisp, which one could argue actually works better.

 Re: Next project
I think the first time I heard about these games was on this forum, and I was dissappointed that they weren't translated yet. Glad to hear you guys are gonna board the project.

Henry Spencer wrote: Any news? Updates? Anything? Well, as I mentioned I'm not working on it anymore, so you'll have to ask Dave or slowbeef. I've decided to spend the little free time I have working on a screenplay idea that's been bouncing around my head for a while. The subject matter has never been seen in film before (and film is the optimum medium for this story), so I'm excited about it. I know it would make for an amazing experience; it's almost like I HAVE to do this.

Here's a screenshot from the French translation. Hi Master Marc Laidlaw, I have a problem to see that picture, maybe any problem at forum. Do you can upload it again? Thanks. gamer_boy http://www.romhackers.org/
