embedded webserver?

Post by jamescavinss »

Hi,

I am a total newbie when it comes to anything tcp/ip related.

I want to create an embedded web server (I think that is what it is called). Basically a computer will connect to the device and the device will serve up webpages. The user configures the device via the web interface, same idea as the routers you can buy from a store.

I also want to be able to show numbers and graphics changes in real time on the web server without the user constantly hitting the refresh button. The device is a monitoring device so lots of data need to be shown in real time.

I am looking to use an ARM cortex 3 with built in MAC without an OS, will that work? I can not use an OS because there are many hard real time events I need to handle
